简介:Purpose:Thisstudyaimedtoinvestigatewhetherworkloadintensitymodulatesexercise-inducedeffectonreactiontime(RT)performances,andmorespecificallytoclarifywhethercognitivecontrolthatplaysacrucialroleinrapiddecisionmakingisaltered.Methods:FourteenparticipantsperformedaSimonTaskwhilecycling20minatalight(firstventilatorythreshold,VT1e20%),moderate(VT1),orveryhard(VT1t20%)levelofexercise.Results:After15minofcycling,RTsarefasterthanduringthefirst5minofexercise.ThisbenefitdoesnotfluctuatewiththeintensityofexerciseandenlargesasRTlengthens.Despiteanumericaldifferencesuggestingagreaterfacilitationduringmoderateexercise(16ms)thanduringalightexercise(10ms),thebenefitisnotstatisticallydifferent.Interestingly,wedidnotobserveanysignsofworseningonRToronaccuracyduringveryhardexercise.Conclusion:Cognitivecontrolisextremelyrobustandappearsnottobeaffectedbytheintensityofexercise.Theselectiveinhibitionandthebetween-trialsadjustmentsareeffectivefromthebeginningtotheendofexercise,regardlessoftheworkloadoutput.

简介:Inthispaper,awavelet-filteredgenetic-neuro-fuzzy(WGNF)controlsystemdesignframeworkforresponsecontrolofahighwaybridgeundervariousearthquakeloadsisdiscussed.TheWGNFcontrollerisdevelopedbycombiningfuzzylogic,discretewavelettransform,geneticalgorithms,andneuralnetworksforuseasacontrolalgorithm.ToevaluatetheperformanceoftheWGNFalgorithm,itistestedonahighwaybridgeequippedwithhydraulicactuators.Itcontrolstheactuatorsinstalledontheabutmentsofthehighwaybridgestructure.Variousearthquakesusedasinputsignalsincludeanartificialearthquake,theEl-Centro,Kobe,NorthPalmSprings,TurkeyBolu,Chi-Chi,andNorthridgeearthquakes.ItisprovedthattheWGNFcontrolsystemiseffectiveinmitigatingthevibrationofthehighwaybridgeunderavarietyofseismicexcitation.

简介:In4-strokeinternalcombustionengines,air-fuelratiocontrolisachallengingtaskduetotherapidchangesofenginethrottle,especiallyduringtransientoperation.Toimprovethetransientperformance,managingthecycle-to-cycletransientbehaviorofthemassoftheair,thefuelandtheburntgasisakeyissueduetotheimbalanceofcycliccombustionprocess.Thispaperaddressthemodel-basedestimationandcontrolproblemforcyclicair-fuelratioofspark-ignitionengines.Adiscrete-timemodelofair-fuelratioisproposed,whichrepresentsthecycle-to-cycletransientbehaviorofin-cylinderstatevariablesundertheassumptionsofcyclicmeasurabilityofthetotalin-cylinderchargemass,combustionefficiencyandtheresidualgasfraction.Withthemodel,aKalmanfilter-basedair-fuelratioestimationalgorithmisproposedthatenableustoperformafeedbackcontrolofair-fuelratiowithoutusinglambdasensor.Finally,experimentalvalidationresultisdemonstratedtoshowtheeffectivenessofproposedestimationandcontrolschemethatisconductedonafull-scaledgasolineenginetestbench.
