简介:Itisusuallydifficulttomeasureacousticvelocitiesthroughacasing,especiallywhenthecasingispoorlybondedwithformation.AnacousticloggingtechniqueusingthedualsourceofoppositepolarityisproposedtoenhancetheSignaltoNoiseRatiooftheformationsignalandtoreducethecasingwaveinthedataacquisitionprocess.Inwhatfollows,atheoreticalmodelingisusedtocaculatethewavefromsofcasedwells.Andthen,ascaledexperimentwasconductedinthe1:10scaledexperimentalwellusingtheproposedtechniqueinthepoorlybondedcondition.Theresultsshowthatthistechniquecaneffectivelysuppressthecasingwaveandenhancetheformationwave,eveninthepoorly-bondedcondition.Byanalyzingthemeasuredwavefroms,theamplitudeofcasingwaveisreducedto12%comparedtotheconventionalone-sourcetechnique,andthecompressionalwavevelocitycanbeeasilyobtainedbyusingthistechnique.Boththetheoreticalmodelingandexperimentresultsdemonstratethefeasibilityoftheproposedtechnique.Thisstudyestablishesthetheoreticalandexperimentalfoundationforthecased-hole,dualsourceofoppositepolarity,acousticloggingtooldevelopment.
简介:Inthispaperwepresentanovelnanoantenna(nantenna)designforenergyharvesting.Thenantennahasan'E'shapeandisplacedonaSiO2substrate.ItsoperationisbasedontheexcitationofsurfaceplasmonpolaritonsthroughthegoldarmsoftheEshape.Byvaryingthelengthsandwidthsofthearms,twooverlappingworkingbandwidthscanbeachieved.Thisresultsinawidebandbehaviorcharacterizedbyafullwidthathalf-maximumofabout2.2μmcenteredaround3.6μm.TwoorthogonalEnantennasareplacedperpendiculartoeachothertorealizeadual-polarizednantenna.Thisnantennacanreceivethetwoincidentpolarizationsattwoseparategaplocationswithveryhighisolation.Theproposedstructurecanbeusedinseveralenergyharvestingapplications,suchasscavengingtheinfraredheatfromtheEarthandotherhotobjects,inadditiontoopticalcommunications.

简介:TheseparationofvariablesisemployedtosolveHamiltoniandualformofeigenvalueproblemfortransversefreevibrationsofthinplates,andformulationofthenaturalmodeinclosedformisperformed.Theclosed-formnatu-ralmodesatisfiesthegoverningequationoftheeigenvalueproblemofthinplateexactlyandisapplicableforanytypesofboundaryconditions.Withallcombinationsofsimply-supported(S)andclamped(C)boundaryconditionsappliedtothenaturalmode,themodeshapesareobtaineduniquelyandtwoeigenvalueequationsarederivedwithrespecttotwospatialcoordinates,withtheaidofwhichthenormalmodesandfrequenciesaresolvedexactly.ItwasbelievedthattheexacteigensolutionsforcasesSSCC,SCCCandCCCCwereunabletobeobtained,however,theyaresuccessfullyfoundinthispaper.ComparisonsbetweenthepresentresultsandtheFEMresultsvalidatethepresentexactsolutions,whichcanthusbetakenasthebenchmarkforverifyingdifferentapproximateapproaches.
