简介:Themonitoredresonantbehavioroffatiguespecimensofmetastableausteniticstainlesssteel(AISI304)iscorrelatedwithitsdamageaccumulationintheveryhighcyclefatigue(VHCF)regime.Theresonantbehaviorisstudiedexperimentallyandshowsadistincttransientcharacteristic.MicroscopicexaminationsindicatethatduringVHCFalocalizedplasticdeformationinshearbandsarisesonthespecimensurface.Hence,thisworkfocusesontheeffectofdamageaccumulationinshearbandsontheresonantbehaviorofAISI304intheVHCFregime.Amicrostructuralsimulationmodelisproposedthattakesintoaccountspecificmechanismsinshearbandsprovenbyexperimentalresults.Thesimulationmodelissolvednumericallyusingthetwo-dimensionalboundaryelementmethodandtheresonantbehaviorischaracterizedbyevaluatingtheforce-displacementhysteresisloop.Simulationofshearbandsagreeswellwithmicroscopicexaminationsandplasticdeformationinshearbandsinfluencesthetransientcharacteristicoftheresonantbehavior.

简介:Theinnovationoftechnologyandtheimprovementofpeople'slivingstandardacceleratethereplacementofconsumerelectronicappliances,resultinginasignificantincreaseofwastehouseholdelectronicappliances(WHEA).ToaddresstheenvironmentalproblemsofWHEA,manycountrieshaveenactedlegislationaccordingtoWHEAmanagement,includingcollecting,processingandrecycling.TheregulationsonthemanagementofWHEAwerealsodraftedinChinaandpilotprogramsofWHEArecyclingmanagementencountereddifficultiesincollectingWHEA.Thesuccessofarecyclingschemeisdependentonpeople'swillingnessofparticipatinginthescheme.ThispaperappliesAjzen'stheoryofplannedbehaviortoseekthemainfactorstoengourageconsumerstoparticipateinWHEArecyclingmanagementinChina.Datafromasurveyconductedwithasampleof633consumersshowthatservicemotivationisthefirstpredictorofparticipationbehaviorintention,followedbyenvironmentalbehaviorattitude,economicmotivation,subjectivenorm,andperceivedbehaviorbarrier.Environmentalknowledgeisfoundnottobethepredictorofbehaviorintentioninthisrecyclingscheme.StudyresultsalsosuggestthatpublicityisthekeysituationalfactorintheWHEArecyclingmanagement.Recyclingnetworkandpolicyhavelittleinfluenceonchangingconsumers'currentbehaviorintentionandparticipation.Implicationsofthefindingsarediscussedandfutureresearchdirectionsaresuggestedintheend.

简介:Theself-extinguishingbehaviorofkerosenesprayfirewasinvestigatedinacompletelyenclosedcompartmentwiththesizeof3m×3m×3.4m.ThespraywasgeneratedbylocatingoneBETEnozzleatthecenterofthebottomwall.AseriesofsprayfirevideoswereobtainedbychangingBETEnozzletypeandinjectingpressure.Theresultsshowthatsprayfireundergoesfourstages:thegrowthstage,thequasi-steadystage,thestretchstageandtheself-extinguishingstage.Consumptionoflargequantitiesofoxygencausessprayfiretofirstbestretchedandthenquench.Inthisprocess,firebasemigratesawayfromsprayregionandleadstotheemergenceofghostingfire.Ghostingfirepromotestheinstabilityofsprayfireandlargefluctuationofitsheight,whichprovideshelptoitsself-extinguishing.Withincreasingtheinjectingpressureorthenozzlediameter,theself-extinguishingtimedecreases.Itisfoundthattheself-extinguishingtimeisapproximatelyininverserelationwithinjectingflowrate.Additionally,wealsoobservedtheoccurrenceoftwo-phasedeflagrationjustafterignition,anditacceleratesthesprayfiregrowthandinducesalargerfireheightthanthefollowingquasi-steadysprayfire.Thedeflagrationturnsstrongerwithincreasingtheinjectingpressure.
