简介:Anopen-endedcoaxiallinereflectionmethodespeciallysuitableformeas-uringthedielectricpropertiesofbiologicaltissueinvivoisdescribed.Thismethodofferstheadvantageofnotrequiringanyspecialpreparationofthesamplestobemeasuredbutaclosecontactwiththeopenendofacoaxialline.Itis,therefore,veryconvenienttoacquirealargenumberofmeasurementdatainbroadbandrapidly.Themethodmayalsobeusedtomeasurethepropertiesofothersubstances.ThemeasuringsystemconsistsofanetworkanalyzercontrolledbyamicrocomputerandcalibratedbyusingANAproceduretoelimi-hatetheinflunceoferrornetworkintroducedbytheadapter,someconnectors,etc.Inor-dertoreachhigheraccuracy,theiterativemethodisusedtodeterminetheparametersoftheequivalentcircuit.Measurementsofpermeativitiesofsomelivingtissueshavebeenper-formedinthefrequencybandof0.5-2GHz.Comparedwiththeresultsknowninsomepapers,thevalidityofthismethodhasbeenconfirmed.Thedifferenceindielectricproper-tiesbetweenlivinganddeadtissues,andthetissuepermeativites(ε)versusfrequencyanddurationofmeasurementafterdeathhavealsobeenmeasured.

简介:Inthispaper,wepresentamodifedmodeldescribingtheconstitutiverelationofviscoelasticdielectricelastomer(DE).Theuniformuniaxialtension-recoveryexperimentwascarriedoutatdiferentstretchingrates.BasedonYeohhyper-elasticmodel,model-fttingapproachisputforwardtoobtaintherelationshipbetweenparametersofYeohmodelandstretchingrate,thusthemodifedmodelwasobtained.Fromtheapproximaterelationshipbetweenharmonicmotionanduniformreciprocatingmotion,thestress–straincurveintherecoveryprocesswasalsoidentifedthroughthehysteresisbetweenstressandstrain.Themodifedmodel,withconciseformandevidentphysicalconcept,candescribethestrongnonlinearbehaviorbetweendeformationandmechanicalstressofthematerialinacommonstretchingraterange(from0.01s1to0.8s1atleast).Theaccuracyandreliabilityofthemodifedmodelwasexamined.
简介:Tocleantheexhaustemissionsasoneofthemostimportanttasksinpollutioncontrol,astudyonthetreatmentofengineemissionswithdischargeassistancewasreported.ADBDplasmasourceshapedingridandcylinderwasexaminedindifferentengineoperationalmodestoreducetheNO_xcontentofdieselengineexhaust.Thecompositionoftheexhaustgasesandchemicalreactionsinitiatedbythedischargewereanalyzed.Thedischargeh'equencyhadacrucialimpactonthedevice'sperformanceandgastreatment.Thevoltagesappliedtothedischargegapcouldalterthechemicalreactionsoccurringinthetreatedgases,whichwereindicatedbytheNOtoNO_2ratio.Theoperationofthesystemwasstudiedatfrequenciesrangingfrom400Hzto16kHz.

简介:Polarizationmanipulationisessentialindevelopingcutting-edgephotonicdevicesrangingfromopticalcommunicationdisplaystosolarenergyharvesting.Mostpreviousworksforefficientpolarizationcontrolcannotavoidutilizingmetalliccomponentsthatinevitablysufferfromlargeohmiclossandthuslowoperationalefficiency.ReplacingmetalliccomponentswithMieresonance-baseddielectricresonatorswilllargelysuppresstheohmiclosstowardhigh-efficiencymetamaterialdevices.Here,weproposeanefficientapproachforbroadband,highqualitypolarizationrotationoperatingintransmissionmodewithall-dielectricmetamaterialsintheterahertzregime.Byseparatingtheorthogonalpolarizationcomponentsinspace,weobtainrotatedoutputwaveswithaconversionefficiencyof67.5%.Theproposedpolarizationmanipulationstrategyshowsimpressiverobustnessandflexibilityindesigningmetadevicesofbothlinear-andcircular-polarizationincidences.
简介:Thispaperdiscussestheconversionofnitricoxide(NO)withalow-temperatureplasmainducedbyacatalyticpacked-beddielectricbarrierdischarge(DBD)reactor.Aluminaoxide(Al_2O_3),glass(SiO_2)andzirconiumoxide(ZrO_2),threedifferentsphericalpackedmaterialsofthesamesize,wereeachpresentintheDBDreactor.TheNOconversionundervaryinginputvoltageandspecificenergydensity,andtheeffectsofcatalysts(titaniumdioxide(TiO_2)andmanganeseoxide(MnOx)coatedonAl_2O_3)onNOconversionwereinvestigated.TheexperimentalresultsshowedthatNOconversionwasgreatlyenhancedinthepresenceofpackedmaterialsinthereactor,andthecatalyticpackedbedofMnOx/Al_2O_3showedbetterperformancethanthatofTiO_2/Al_2O_3.Thesurfaceandcrystalstructuresofthematerialsandcatalystswerecharacterizedthroughscanningelectronmicroscopyanalysis.ThefinalproductswereclearlyobservedbyaFouriertransforminfraredspectrometerandprovidedabetterunderstandingofNOconversion.
简介:Viscoelasticityandtemperaturecansignificantlyafecttheperformanceofadielectricelastomer.Inthecurrentstudy,weuseathermodynamicmodeltodescribetheefectoftemperatureandviscoelasticityontheelectromechanicalresponseundergoingacyclicelectricloadbytakingintoaccountofthetemperaturedependentdielectricconstant.Becauseofthesignificantviscoelasticityinthedielectricelastomer,thedeformationandthenominalelectricdisplacementcannotkeepinphasewiththeelectricfieldatlowfrequencies.Theresultsshowthatthemagnitudeofthecyclicelectromechanicalactuationstrainincreaseswiththedecreaseofthetemperatureanddecreaseswiththeincreasingfrequency,andviscoelasticitycanresultinsignificanthysteresisfordielectricelastomersunderarelativelowtemperatureandalowfrequency.

简介:Inthisstudyatmosphericpressuredielectricbarrierdischarge(DBD)plasmahasbeenemployedforsterilizingdryturmericpowders.A6kV,6kHzfrequencygeneratorwasusedtogenerateplasmawithAr,Ar/O2,He,andHe/O2gasesbetweenthe5mmgapoftwoquartzcoveredelectrodes.Thecompletesterilizationtimeofsamplesduetoplasmatreatmentwasmeasured.Themostimportantcontaminantofturmericisbacillussubtilis.Theresultsshowthattheshorteststerilizationtimeof15minisachievedbyexposingthesamplestoAr/O2plasma.Survivalcurvesofsamplesareexponentialfunctionsoftimeandtheadditionofoxygentoplasmaleadstoasignificantincreaseoftheabsolutevalueoftimeconstantofthecurves.MagnitudesofproteinandDNAintreatedsampleswereincreasedtoasimilarvalueforallsamples.Taste,color,andsolubilityofsampleswerenotchangedaftertheplasmatreatment.
