简介:Inthisarticletheemphasiswasgiventothediscussionoftheeffectsofdiameterratioandswirlingoninstabilitycharacterforthegas/liquidcoaxialjetusedbyLiao,etal.[1].Theresultsindicatethatthefinitediameterratiomarkedlyincreasesthemaximumgrowthrate,themostunstablewavenumber,aswellasthecutoffwavenumber.Itimpliesthatthefinitediameterratiowillleadtotheliquidjetbreakuplengthshorterandtheliquiddropsizesmaller.Theeffectoftheswirlingjetsismuchmorecomplex:fortheaxisymmetricperturbationmode,theswirlingenhancestheflowstability,forhelicalperturbation,thedominantinstabilitymodeoccursatn<0.Anditisfoundthatinlongwaveregionthereexistsanewkindofinstabilitymodesatn=1thatwasnotmentionedinLiaoetal.'sarticle.Forthisnewmode,thereappearsadominatedswirlingratioatwhichtheflowhasthemaximumgrowthrate.
简介:Inordertounderstandthebreakupperformanceofcoaxialporousinjectors,thespraysofcoaxialporousinjectorswithtwodifferentporousmaterialcylinderlengthswerecomparedwiththoseofconventionalshearcoaxialinjectors.Toallowcomparison,thewallinjectionlengthsweredesignedtobeequivalenttothevalueoftherecessdepth.Coldflowsprayswerevisualizedusingback-litphotographymethodsandanalyzedquantitativelywithalaserdiffractionapparatus,inordertostudytheeffectsofthemomentumfluxratioandWebernumberonthebreakupforeachtypeofinjector.Incaseoftheshearcoaxialinjector,thelargeliquidcorewasobservedinlowairmassflowratecondition.However,thedestabilizationoftheliquidjetfromthecoaxialporousinjectorisalmostcompletewithintheinnerregion,neartheinjectorfaceplate.Additionally,betterbreakupperformanceinlowgasflowrateconditionwasobtainedwhentheporouscylinderlengthdecreased,whiletheshearcoaxialinjectorsshowedbetterbreakupefficiencywhentherecesslengthincreased.Inconclusion,thedifferentbreakupprocesscausedbytheradialmomentumintheinnerregionoftheporousinjectordisintegratedtheliquidcore.

简介:Tounveilthecharacteristicsandavailablepropagationmechanismofcoaxial-typemicrowaveexcitedline-shapeplasma,theeffectsofparametersincludingmicrowavepower,workingpressure,dielectricconstant,andexternalmagneticfieldontheplasmadistributionwerenumericallyinvestigatedbysolvingacoupledsystemofMaxwell’sequationsandcontinuityequations.Numericalresultsindicatethathighmicrowavepower,relativelyhighworkingpressure,lowdielectricconstant,andshapedmagneticfieldprofileswillhelpproduceahigh-densityanduniformplasmasource.Excitingbothendsbymicrowavecontributedtothehigh-densityanduniformplasmasourceaswell.Possiblemechanismswereanalyzedbyusingthepolarizationmodeloflowtemperatureplasma.Thegenerationandpropagationprocessesoftheline-shapeplasmamainlydependontheinteractionofthreeaspects,i.e.thetransmittedpart,penetrationpartandabsorptivepartoftheelectromagneticfield.Thenumericalresultswerequalitativelyconsistentwithavailableexperimentalresultsfromliterature.Moreelaboratedescriptionsofthethreeaspectsandcorrespondinginteractionsamongthemneedtobeinvestigatedfurthertoimprovethepropertiesoftheline-shapeplasma.
