简介:Thecombinationofradiotherapy(RT)andfunction-preservingsurgeryisthemostusualcontemporaryapproachinthemanagementofsofttissuesarcomas(STS).Pre-andpostoperativeRTresultinsimilarlocalcontrolrates,asshownbyalandmarktrialinextremitySTS.Inthisreview,theroleofRTinthemanagementofextremitySTSwillbediscussed,butSTSinothersites,includingretroperitonealSTS,willalsobeaddressed.ThefocuswillconsidervariousaspectsofRTincludingstrategiestoreducethevolumeoftissuebeingirradiated,dose,scheduling,andthepossibleofomissionofRTinselectedcases.Finally,technologyadvancesthroughtheuseofintensity-modulatedradiotherapy(IMRT),image-guidedIMRT,intraoperativeradiotherapy(IORT)andparticletherapywillalsobediscussed.
简介:Flowcytometryandimageanalysistechniquewereusedtoquantltatethenucleiofvarioussofttissuetumors.Asinglerepresentingsectionfromsofttissuesarcomawasusedforhistologicgrading.Histologlcandcytometriccomparativeanalysesshowedthatall21benigntumorswerediploid.Among62casesofsofttissuesarcoma,45(73%)wereaneuploid.Therewasasignificantdifferenceinthenuclearareabetweenbenignandmalignanttumors(P<0.01),dlploidandaneuploidtumors(P<0.05).ThetwonewtechniquesarevaluableIncellularquantitativemeasurementforsofttissuetumors.

简介:Oysterextractisaneffectivebioactivitycomponent.Ithasabundantnutritionalvalueandantiviral,antitumorandimmunedefensefunctions.Theroleofoysterextractintreatingliverinjuryhasbeenpaidmoreattention.WeuseWistarratstomakealcoholicliverdiseasemodelthroughinjectingalcoholintorats'stomachs.Theseratswererandomlydividedintofivegroups:modelgroup,controlgroup,low-dose,middle-doseandhigh-doseexperimentalgroupwithadoseof0.12gkg-1,0.40gkg-1,and1.20gkg-1alcoholic.Afternineweeks,serumbiomarkers(ALT,AST,TGandTCHO),malondialdehyde(MDA),glutathione(GSH),C3a,C5a,IL-17,TNF-ɑ,anti-MAA-HASIgG,CD3+,CD4+,CD8+,NKcellactivationandzinccontentwereassessed.Theresultsshowedthattheserumbiomarkers(ALT,AST,TGandTCHO),MDAcontent,anti-MAA-HSAIgG,serumC3a,C5aIL-17andTNF-ɑlevelsofoysterextracttreatmentgroupsweresignificantlydecreasedincomparisonwithmodelgroup.Onthecontrary,GSHshowedadversetrend.SerumCD3+,CD4+andNKcellactivationweresignificantlyincreasedinmiddle-dosegroupandhigh-dosegroupcomparedwithmodelgroup,andtherewasdecreaseofCD8+activityinhigh-dosegroup.PlasmaZnlevelwasdecreasedinmodelgroupcomparedwiththatincontrolgroup.Meanwhile,MeanplasmaZnlevelsincreaseddramaticallyfollowingthedoseincreaseofagivenoysterextract.
简介:NewZealandrabbitswererandomlydividedintoanischemiagroup(occlusionoftheabdominalaortafor60minutes),anischemia-reperfusiongroup(occlusionoftheabdominalaortafor60minutesfollowedby48hoursofreperfusion)andasham-surgerygroup.Two-dimensionalgelelectrophoresisdetected49differentiallyexpressedproteinsinspinalcordtissuefromtheischemiaandischemia/reperfusiongroupsand23ofthemwereidentifiedbymassspectrometry.Intheischemiagroup,theexpressionofeightproteinswasupregulated,andthatoftheremainingfourproteinswasdownregulated.Intheischemia/reperfusiongroup,theexpressionoffourproteinswasupregulated,andthatoftwoproteinswasdownregulated.Inthesham-surgerygroup,onlyoneproteinwasdetected.Intheischemiaandischemia/reperfusiongroups,fourproteinsoverlappedbetweengroupswiththesamedifferentialexpression,includingthreethatwereupregulatedandonedownregulated.Theseproteinswererelatedtoenergymetabolism,celldefense,inflammatorymechanismandcellsignaling.
简介:Objective:Tostudytheeffectofmildhypothermiaonglucosemetabolismandglycerolofbraintissueinpatientswithseveretraumaticbraininjury(STBI)usingclinicalmicrodialysis.Methods:Thirty-onepatientswithSTBI(GCS≤8)wererandomlydividedintohypothermicgroup(GroupA)andcontrolgroup(GroupB).Microdialysiscatheterswereinsertedintothecerebralcortexofperilesionalandnormalbraintissue.AllsampleswereanalyzedusingCMAmicrodialysisanalyzer.Results:Incomparisonwiththecontrolgroup,lactate/glucoseratio(L/G),lactate/pyruvateratio(L/P)andglycerol(Gly)inperilensionaltissueweresignificantlydecreased;L/Pinnormalbraintissuewassignificantlydecreased.Incontrolgroup,L/G,L/PandGlyinperilensionaltissuewerehigherthanthatinnormalbraintissue.Inthehypothermicgroup.L/Pinperilensionaltissuewashigherthanthatinrelativenormalbrain.Conclusions:MildhypothermiaprotectsbraintissuesbydecreasingL/G,L/PandGlyinperilensionaltissueandL/Pin'normalbrain'tissues.Theenergycrisisandmembranephospholipiddegradationinperilensionaitissueareeasiertohappenaftertraumaticbraininjury,andmildhypothermiaprotectsbrainbetterinperilensionaltissuethaninnormalbraintissue.
简介:Objective:Tostudythechangesofpartialpressureofbraintissueoxygen(PbtO2)andbraintemperatureinacutephaseofsevereheadinjuryduringmildhypothermiatherapyandtheclinicalsignificance.Methods:Onehundredandsixteenpatientswithsevereheadinjurywereselectedanddividedintoamildhypothermiagroup(n=58),andacontrolgroup(n=58)accordingtooddandevennumbersofhospitalization.WhilemildhypothermiatherapywasperformedPbtO2andbraintemperatureweremonitoredfor1-7days(mean=86hours),simultaneously,theintracranialpressure,rectumtemperature,cerebralperfusionpressure,PaO2andPaCO2werealsomonitored.Thepatientswerefollowedupfor6monthsandtheprognosiswasevaluatedwithGOS(Glasgowoutcomescale).Results:ThemeanvalueofPbtO2within24hourmonitoringinthe116patientswas13.7mmHg±4.94mmHg,lowerthanthenormalvalue(16mmHg±40mmHg)ThetimeofPbtO2recoveringtothenormalvalueinthemildhypothermiagroupwasshortenedby10±4.15hourscomparedwiththecontrolgroup(P<0.05).Thesurvivalrateofthemildhypothermiagroupwas60.43%,higherthanthatofthecontrolgroup(46.55%).Aftertherecoveryofthebraintemperature,PbtO2increasedwiththeriseofthebraintemperature.Conclusions:Mildhypothermiacanimprovethesurvivalrateofsevereheadinjury.ThetechniqueofmonitoringPbtO2andthebraintemperatureissafeandreliable,andhasimportantclinicalsignificanceinjudgingdiseaseconditionandinstructingclinicaltherapy.
