Carbon-manganesesteelisoftenappliedincomponentsofpipesinnuclearplant.Ultrasonicfatiguetestsfollowinglowcyclefatigue(LCF)cyclesdamagedareusedtostudythestrengthofveryhighcyclefatigure(VHCF).ThecomparisonoftestresultsofsimpleVHCFandcumulativefatigue(LCFplusVHCF)showsthatLCFloadinfluencesthefollowingVHCFstrength.ContinuumdamagemechanicsmodelisextendedtoVHCFregion.TheeffectofLCFloadonVHCFisstudiedbyanimprovedcumulativedamagemodel.
