摘要
Thefatiguelifeofnumerousaerospace,locomotive,automotiveandbiomedicalstructuresmaygobeyond10~8cycles.Determinationoflonglifefatiguebehaviorbecomesextremelyimportantforbetterunderstandinganddesignofthecomponentsandstructures.Initially,beforetheinventionofultrasonicfatiguetesting,mostoftheengineeringmaterialsweresupposedtoexhibitfatiguelifeupto10~7cyclesorless.Thispaperreviewscurrentunderstandingofsomefundamentalaspectsonthedevelopmentofacceleratedfatiguetestingmethodanditsapplicationinultra-highcyclefatigue,crackinitiationandgrowthmechanismsofinternalfracture,S-Ndiagram,fatiguelimitandlifeprediction,etc.
