简介:Adesignofsemi-submersibleplatformismainlybasedontheextremeresponseanalysisduetotheforcesexperiencedbythecomponentsduringlifetime.Theexternalloadscaninducetheextremeairgapresponseandpotentialdeckimpacttothesemi-submersibleplatform.Itisimportanttopredictairgapresponseofplatformsaccuratelyinordertocheckthestrengthoflocalstructureswhichwithstandthewaveslammingduetonegativeairgap.Thewindloadcannotbesimulatedeasilybymodeltestintowingtankwhereasitcanbesimulatedaccuratelyinwindtunneltest.Furthermore,fullscalesimulationofthemooringsysteminmodeltestisstillatuffworkespeciallythestiffnessofthemooringsystem.Owingtotheabovementionedproblem,themodeltestresultsarenotaccurateenoughforairgapevaluation.Theaimofthispaperistopresentsensitivityanalysisresultsofairgapmotionwithrespecttothemooringsystemandwindloadforthedesignofsemi-submersibleplatform.Thoughthemodeltestresultsarenotsuitableforthedirectevaluationofairgap,theycanbeusedasagoodbasisfortuningtheradiationdampingandviscousdraginnumericalsimulation.Inthepresenteddesignexample,anumericalmodelistunedandvalidatedbyANSYSAQWAbasedonthemodeltestresultswithasimple4linesymmetricalhorizontalsoftmooringsystem.Accordingtothetunednumericalmodel,sensitivityanalysisstudiesofairgapmotionwithrespecttothemooringsystemandwindloadareperformedintimedomain.Threemooringsystemsandfivesimulationcasesaboutthepresentedplatformaresimulatedbasedontheresultsofwindtunneltestsandsea-keepingtests.Thesensitivityanalysisresultsarevaluableforthefloatingplatformdesign.

简介:Thispaperdealswiththecapabilitiesoflinearandnonlinearbeamtheoriesinpredictingthedynamicresponseofanelasticallysupportedthinbeamtraversedbyamovingmass.Tothisend,thediscreteequationsofmotionaredevelopedbasedonLagrange’sequationsviareproducingkernelparticlemethod(RKPM).Foraparticularcaseofasimplysupportedbeam,GalerkinmethodisalsoemployedtoverifytheresultsobtainedbyRKPM,andareasonablygoodagreementisachieved.Variationsofthemaximumdynamicdeflectionandbendingmomentassociatedwiththelinearandnonlinearbeamtheoriesareinvestigatedintermsofmovingmassweightandvelocityforvariousbeamboundaryconditions.Itisdemonstratedthatformajorityofthemovingmassvelocities,thedifferencesbetweentheresultsoflinearandnonlinearanalysesbecomeremarkableasthemovingmassweightincreases,particularlyforhighlevelsofmovingmassvelocity.Exceptforthecantileverbeam,thenonlinearbeamtheorypredictshigherpossibilityofmovingmassseparationfromthebasebeamcomparedtothelinearone.Furthermore,theaccuracylevelsofthelinearbeamtheoryaredeterminedforthinbeamsunderlargedeflectionsandsmallrotationsasafunctionofmovingmassweightandvelocityinvariousboundaryconditions.

简介:Thisstudyaimstoexploregenerationmechanismsoftheoceaninternalwaveusingthedynamicalanalysismethodsbasedonlineartheories.Historicalcruisemeasurementsandrecentsyntheticapertureradar(SAR)observationsofmesoscaleeddieswithdiameterofseveraltensofkilometerstohundredsofkilometersshowthattheinternalwavepacketswithwavelengthofhundredsofmeterstokilometerexistinsidethemesoscaleeddies.Thiscoexistencephenomenonandinherentlinksbetweenthetwodifferentscaleprocessesarerevealedinthesolutionsofgoverningequationsandboundaryconditionsfortheinternalwavedisturbancewithahorizontallyslowlyvariableamplitudeinacylindricalcoordinatesystem.Thetheoreticalsolutionsindicatethattheinstabilityofeddycurrentfieldprovidesthedynamicalmechanismtointernalwavegeneration.Thederiveddispersionrelationindicatesthattheinternalwavepropagationismodifiedbytheeddycurrentfieldstructure.Theenergyequationoftheinternalwavesclearlyshowstheinternalwaveenergyincrementcomesfromtheeddy.Thetheoreticalmodelsareusedtoexplaintheobservationofthemesoscaleeddy-inducedinternalwavesofftheNorwegiancoast.Thetwo-dimensionalwaveformsolutionoftheanticycloniceddy-inducedinternalwavepacketappearsasring-shapedcurves,whichcontainsthetypicalfeaturesofeddystreamlines.ThecomparisonoftheoreticalsolutionstothestructureoftheinternalwavepacketsonSARimageshowsagoodagreementonthemajorfeatures.
