  • 简介:SequencevariationofpartialcytochromebgenesbetweentwoCoiliaspecies,C.ectenesandC.mystus,wasinvestigated.Ofthe402nucleotides,twenty-seven(6.72%)arepolymorphicandallaresynonymoussubstitutions.Atthethirdpositionsofgeneticcondonofcytochromebgene,thetwospeciesshowanextremeanti-Gbias(<4%)andapronouncedbiastowardsAandC(>68%).Thereisnoaminoacidsequencedivergencebetweenthepartialcytochromebgenesofthetwospecies,indicatingaclosegeneticrelationshipbetweenthem.Thek-2pgeneticdistanceofpartialcytochromebsegmentofthetwospeciesis0.072,suggestingthatthespecieswereseparated3.6Maago,inthemiddlePliocene.Ourresultrevealsthatthecytochromebgeneisanappropriatemarkerforstudiesofpopulationgeneticstructuresandphylogeographicpatternsofthetwospecies.

  • 简介:Appropriatepathogenicbacteriawereisolatedfromdiseased(ordead)flounder(ParalichthysolivaceusL)occurringinamariculturefarmsofQinhuangdao,whichalldiseasedfishesexpressedbacterialseptieaemia.Thephenotypicinformationofthe12purecultureswasstudiedextensively,includingmorphologicalcharacteristics,colonycharacteristicsindifferentmedia,physiologicalandbiochemicalcharacteristics,andthemolefractionG+CratiooftheDNAforrepresentativestrain.TheresultsshowthattheisolatesbelongtoanewspeciesofVibrio,andaredesignatedasVibrioqinhuangdaorasp.nov.bytheareafromwhichthediseasedfloundersarecollected(Qinhuangdao)basedonitsbiologicalpropertiesfollowingRulesofInternationalCodeofNomenclatureofBacteria.Atthesametime,studiesontheserumhomologyofisolates,andpathogenicityofisolateswereconductedbyexperimentalinfection.Theresultsshowthatalltheisolatesareofserologicsimilarity,andtheisolateshavestrongpathogenicitytoflounder.ThestudiescanextensivelyreflectthemainbiologicalpropertiesofthisnewspeciesofVibrio.

  • 简介:ZooplanktonsurveyswerecarriedoutonNovember2-3andDecember8-10,2001at12stationsintheNanWanBayofTaiwan,China.Altogether92quantitativezooplanktonsampleswerecollectedfromsubsurfacewaterandbottomwaterlayerswithtwoconicalplanktonnets(180cminlength,45cminopeningdiameter,333μmand200μminmeshsize).Atotalof31speciesofSiphonophoreswereidentified,amongthem7speciesarenewrecordsinthewatersaroundTaiwanIsland,ofwhichRocaceacymbiformisisanewrecordinChina.DominatedbyChelophyesappendiculata,Bassiabassensis,Diphyesbojani,Diphyesdispar,AbylopsiseschscholtziandChelophyescontorta,thesespeciesaccountedforover76%and63%ofthetotalabundanceinNovemberandDecember.ThespeciesnumberandSiphonophoresabundanceinDecember(25species,1.99inds/m3)weremorethanthoseinNovember(19species,0.438inds/m3),andtheyweremoreinthesurfacewaterlayerthaninthebottomlayeratmostsamplingstations.Inearlywinter,theoffshorehighsalinitywatermasswasamainfactorinfluencingthedistribution.ThesamplingefficiencyfortwoplanktonnetsisdiscussedandtheseasonalvariationofspeciesnumberandabundanceintheNanWanBayiscomparedwiththatintheneighboringwaters.
