  • 简介:Thegenerationandevolutionofturbulentspotsintheopen-channelflowaresimulatednumericallybyusingtheNavier-Stokesequations.Aneffectivenumericalmethodwithhighaccuracyandhighresolutionisdeveloped.Thefourth-ordertimesplittingmethodswithhighaccuracyisproposed.Three-dimensionalcouplingdifferencemethodsarepresentedforthespatialdiscretizationofthePoissonequationofpressureandHemholtzequationsofvelocity,therefore,thefourth-orderthree-dimensionalcouplingcentraldifferenceschemesareconstituted.Thefourth-orderexplicitupwind-biasedcompactdifferenceschemesaredesignedtoovercomethedifficultyforthegeneralhigher-ordercentraldifferenceschemewhichisinadaptableintheboundaryneighborhood.Theiterativealgorithmandoveralltimemarchingisusedtoenhanceefficiency.Themethodisappliedinthenumericalsimulationofturbulentspotsatvariouscomplexboundaryconditionsandflowdomains.Thegenerationandthedevelopingprocessofturbulentspotsaregiven,andthebasiccharacteristicsofturbulentspotsareshownbysimulatingtheevolutionofthewallpulseininclinedopen-channelflow.

  • 简介:Experimentalfluidizationresultswerecomparedforthreegasdistributorswiththesameopeningratiobutdifferentorificeinclinations(30,45,and90).Hydrodynamicstudieswereconductedwithglassbeads(diameter154p.m)toevaluatetheimpactsoforificeinclinationandstaticbeddepthonpressuredrop,pressuredropfluctuations,bedexpansion,andminimumfluidizationvelocity.Solidsresidencetimedistributionsweredeterminedusingphosphorescenttracerparticles(meandiameter76pm),activatedbyultravioletlight.Thebedpressuredropwashigherwiththeinclined-holedistributorsandincreasedwithstaticbedheight.Inashallowbed,theinclined-holedistributorsgavelessexpansion;however,indeepbeds,theorificeanglehadnegligibleinfluenceonbedexpansion.Theminimumfluidizationvelocityvariedwithstaticbedheightfortheinclined-holedistributorsandwashigherforsteeperangles.Theturnovertimeestimatedusingbubbling-bedequationsmatchedtheexperimentalresultswellforverticalmixing.Probesandportsatthewallsofthefluidizationcolumnreducedthedense-phasedownwardvelocitybyupto40%.Thetangentialparticlevelocitywashighestforthe30-holedistributoranddecreasedwithincreasingorificeangle.Tangentialmixingwasdescribedbyadispersionmodel;thedispersioncoefficientfortheinclined-holedistributorswasapproximatelytwicethatforthe90-holedistributorinashallowbed.

  • 简介:Anumericalsimulationandanexperimentalstudyonvortex-inducedmotion(VIM)ofanewtypeofdeepdraftmulti-columnsfloatingdrillingproduction,storageandoffloading(FDPSO)arepresentedinthispaper.Themaindimension,thespecialvariablecross-sectioncolumnandthecabinarrangementoftheoctagonalpontoonareintroducedbasedontheresult.Thenumericalsimulationisadaptedtostudytheeffectsofcurrentincidenceanglesandreducedvelocitiesonthisplatform'sswaymotionresponse.The300mwaterdepthequivalenttruncatedmooringsystemisadoptedforthemodeltests.Themodeltestsarecarriedouttocheckthereliabilityofnumericalsimulation.Theresultsconsistofsurge,swayandyawmotions,aswellasmotiontrajectories.Themaximumswayamplitudesfordifferenttypesofoffshoreplatformisalsostudied.Themainresultsshowthatthepeakfrequenciesofswaymotionunderdifferentcurrentincidenceanglesandreducedvelocitiesvaryaroundthenaturalfrequency.TheanalysisresultofflowfieldindicatesthatthechangeofdistributionofvortexinverticalpresentssignificantinfluencesontheVIMofplatform.ThetrendofswayamplituderatiocurveofthisnewtypeFDPSOdiffersfromtheothertypesofplatform.Under45°currentincidenceangle,theswayamplitudeofthisnewtypeofFDPSOismuchsmallerthanthoseofothertypesofoffshoreplatformat4.4≤Vr≤8.9.Thetypical'8'shapetrajectorydoesnotappearintheplatform'smotiontrajectories.

  • 简介:Inthispaper,howtocomputetheeigenfrequenciesofthestructurescomposedofaseriesofinclinedcablesisshown.Thephysicsofaninclinedcablecanbecomplicated,sosolvingthedifferentialequationsevenapproximatelyisdifficult.However,ratherthansolvingthesystemof4first-orderequationsgoverningthedynamicsofeachcable,thegoverningequationsareinsteadconvertedtoasetofequationsthattheexteriormatrixsatisfies.Therefore,theexteriormatrixmethod(EMM)isusedwithoutsolvingtheoriginalgoverningequations.Eventhoughthisproducesasystemof6first-orderequations,thesimpleasymptotictechniquestofindthefirstthreetermsoftheperturbativesolutioncanbeused.Thesolutionscanthenbeassembledtoproducea6×6exteriormatrixforacablesection.Thematricesforeachcableinthestructurearemultipliedtogether,alongwiththeexteriormatricesforeachjoint.Therootsoftheproductgiveustheeigenfrequenciesofthesystem.

  • 简介:Numericalsimulationofgas-solidflowinatwo-dimensionalfluidizedbedwithaninclinedjetwasperformed.Thenumericalmodelisbasedonthetwo-fluidmodelofgasandsolidsphaseinwhichthesolidsconstitutiveequationsarebasedonthekinetictheoryofgranularflow.TheimprovedICEalgorithm,whichcanbeusedforbothlowandhigh-velocityfluidflow,wereusedtosolvethemodelequations.Themechanismofjetformationwasanalyzedusingbothnumericalsimulationsandexperiments.Theemergenceandmovementofgasbubbleswerecapturednumericallyandexperimentally.Theinfluencesofjetvelocity,nozzlediameter,nozzleinclinationandjetpositiononjetpenetrationlengthwereobtained.Asemi-empiricalexpressionwasderivedandtheparameterswerecorrelatedfromexperimentaldata.Thecorrelationequation,whichcanbeeasilyusedtoobtaintheinclinedjetpenetrationlength,wascomparedwithourexperimentaldataandpublishedcorrelationequations.

  • 简介:Horizontalimpedancefunctionsofinclinedsinglepilesaremeasuredexperimentallyformodelsoil-pilesystemswithboththeeffectsoflocalsoilnonlinearityandresonantcharacteristics.Twopracticalpileinclinationsof5掳and10掳inadditiontoaverticalpileembeddedincohesionlesssoilandsubjectedtolateralharmonicpileheadloadingsforawiderangeoffrequenciesareconsidered.Resultsobtainedwithlow-to-highamplitudeoflateralloadingsonmodelsoil-pilesystemsencasedinalaminarshearboxshowthatthelocalnonlinearitieshaveaprofoundimpactonthehorizontalimpedancefunctionsofpiles.Horizontalimpedancefunctionsofinclinedpilesarefoundtobesmallerthantheverticalpileandthevaluesdecreaseastheangleofpileinclinationincreases.Distinctvaluesofhorizontalimpedancefunctionsareobtainedforthe'positive'and'negative'cyclesofharmonicloadings,leadingtoasymmetricforce-displacementrelationshipsfortheinclinedpiles.Validationoftheseexperimentalresultsiscarriedoutthroughthree-dimensionalnonlinearfiniteelementanalyses,andtheresultsfromthenumericalmodelsareingoodagreementwiththeexperimentaldata.Sensitivityanalysesconductedonthenumericalmodelssuggestthattheconsiderationoflocalnonlinearityatthevicinityofthesoil-pileinterfaceinfluencetheresponseofthesoil-pilesystems.

  • 简介:Thereisatradeoffbetweenthequantumefficiencyandthespectralresponselinewidthinresonant-cavityenhanced(RCE)photodetectors.Recentlyanewtypeofphotodetectorstructurehasbeenproposed,whichutilizesaninclinedmirrorinathree-mirrorcavity.Itdecouplesthequantumefficiencyandthespectralresponselinewidthandhashighresponsespeed,highquantumefficiency,andnarrowlinewidthsimultaneously.Theanalysisresultindicatesthatthelinewidthof0.8nmandquantumefficiencyhigherthan70%canbeachievedonthisdevice.Fora30×30μm2device,themaximumbandwidthapproaches23GHz.
