  • 简介:Thedemandforpotablewaterisrisingrapidlyduetoanever-increasingpopulation,economicactivities,anddwindlingwatersupplies.Toprovideadequatewatersuppliesinthefuture,understandingtheissuesandchallengesinthereuseofwateranddevelopingappropriatestrategiesforreusewillbecritical.Onewaytoaugmentwatersuppliesforresidentialuseistoreusegraywater-thewastewaterfromkitchens,bathrooms,andlaundries.Inthisarticle,wecriticallyreviewtheevolutionofwaterreuse,thedefinitionofgraywater,graywaterreusepractices,volumesandflowindifferentsituations,andgraywatercharacteristics.Wethenexaminetheissuesassociatedwithdifferentgraywatertreatmentmethodsandhowusinggraywaterforirrigationaroundhomesaffectssoilqualityandplantgrowth.Thestudyconcludesthatgraywatertreatmentcosts,humanhealthrisks,anditseffectonsoilqualityaresomeofthechallengesthatneedtobeaddressedinthefutureforwidespreadandsustainablereuseofgraywaterforirrigationaroundhomes.

  • 简介:Thispaperpresentedacontroldesignmethodologyforaprotonexchangemembranefuelcell(PEMFC)generationsystemforresidentialapplications.Thedynamicbehaviorofthegenerationsystemiscomplexinsuchapplications.Acomprehensivecontroldesignisveryimportantforachievingasteadysystemoperationandefficiency.Thecontrolstrategyfora60kWgenerationsystemwasproposedandtestedbasedonthesystemdynamicmodel.Atwo-variablesingleneuronproportional-integral(PI)decouplingcontrollerwasdevelopedforanodepressureandhumiditybyadjustingthehydrogenflowandwaterinjection.Asimilarcontrollerwasdevelopedforcathodepressureandhumiditybyadjustingtheexhaustflowandwaterinjection.Thedesiredoxygenexcessratiowaskeptbyafeedbackcontrollerbasedontheloadcurrent.Anoptimalseekingcontrollerwasusedtotracetheuniqueoptimalpowerpoint.TwonegativefeedbackcontrollerswereusedtoprovideACpowerandasuitablevoltageforresidentialloadsbyapowerconditioningunit.Controlsimulationtestsshowedthat60kWPEMFCgenerationsystemrespondedwellforcomputer-simulatedstepchangesintheloadpowerdemand.Thiscontrolmethodologyfora60kWPEMFCgenerationsystemwouldbeacompetitivesolutionforsystemleveldesignssuchasparameterdesign,performanceanalysis,andonlineoptimization.

  • 简介:Naturalhazardssuchashurricanesmaycauseextensiveeconomiclossesandsocialdisruptionforcivilstructuresandinfrastructuresincoastalareas,implyingtheimportanceofunderstandingtheconstructionperformancesubjectedtohurricanesandassessingthehurricanedamagesproperly.Theintensityandfrequencyofhurricaneshavebeenreportedtochangewithtimeduetothepotentialimpactofclimatechange.Inthispaper,aprobability-basedmodelofhurricanedamageassessmentforcoastalconstructionsisproposedtakingintoaccountthenon-stationarityinhurricaneintensityandfrequency.Thenon-homogeneousPoissonprocessisemployedtomodelthenon-stationarityinhurricaneoccurrencewhilethenon-stationarityinhurricaneintensityisreflectedbythetime-variantstatisticalparameters(e.g.,meanvalueand/orstandarddeviation),withwhichthemeanvalueandvariationofthecumulativehurricanedamageareevaluatedexplicitly.TheMiami-DadeCounty,Florida,USA,ischosentoillustratethehurricanedamageassessmentmethodproposedinthispaper.Theroleofnon-stationarityinhurricaneintensityandoccurrencerateduetoclimatechangeinhurricanedamageisinvestigatedusingsomerepresentativechangingpatternsofhurricaneparameters.

  • 简介:Thisstudyaimstoinvestigateplumbingdoityourself(DIY)materialsfordevelopmentandpracticalissuesinatownshipofSouthernTaiwanandtoexploretheteachingprocessinvolvedforadultstudentplumbingcourses.Furthermore,innovativeteachingstrategieshavebeenassessedaswell.Theresearchwasbasedonthelearningprogressof22adultstudentstakingplumbingDIYcourses,heldbyPingtungTownshipPublicLibrary.Aftereightweeksofcoursework,satisfactionquestionnairesandopen-endedquestionswereusedtoexploretheirsatisfaction.Thestudyfindingsaccountforvariousarrangementsoftheworkshop,theteachingprocesses,andrelatedstrategies.Theplumbingcoursesincluderepairandreplacementoflights,switchsockets,simpleunclogging,etc.Throughillustration,demonstration,hands-onoperation,andinteractivemedia,adultstudents’learningandinterestswereimproved.Thecourseandmaterialswerehighlypraisedbyadultstudents;theyallplannedtotakeadvancedcoursesinthenearfuture.

  • 简介:Thispaperpresentsthedesignandimplementationofanenergymanagementsystem(EMS)withwavelettransformandfuzzycontrolforaresidentialmicro-grid.Thehybridsysteminthispaperconsistsofawindturbinegenerator,photovoltaic(PV)panels,anelectricvehicle(EV),andasupercapacitor(SC),whichisabletoconnectordisconnecttothemaingrid.Thecontrolstrategyisresponsibleforcompensatingthedifferencebetweenthegeneratedpowerbythewindandsolargeneratorsandthedemandedpowerbytheloads.Wavelettransformdecomposesthepowerdifferenceintoasmoothedcomponentandafastfluctuatedcomponent.Thecommandapproachusedforfuzzylogicrulesconsidersthestateofcharging(SOC)ofEV,renewableproduction,andtheloaddemandasparameters.Furthermore,thecommandrulesaredevelopedinordertoensureareliablegridwhentakingintoaccounttheEVbatteryprotectiontodecidetheoutputpoweroftheEV.ThemodelofthehybridsystemisdevelopedindetailunderMatlab/Simulinksoftwareenvironment.

  • 简介:ResidentialwateruseisgraduallybecomingthefocusinChina'smunicipalwatersupplyplanningandmanagementinrecentyears.Littleisknown,however,abouttheresidentialwateruseinmodemChinaduetothetransitionofeconomyandenhancementofmanagementonwaterconservation.InordertobetterunderstandthecharacteristicsofresidentialwateruseinNorthChina,amodelforidentifyingthedeterminantsofresidentialwaterusewasestablishedandanalyzedbyusingpaneldataandcross-sectiondatamethodologies.ThenTaiyuancity,thecapitalcityofShanxiProvinceinNorthernChinawasselectedasacasestudy.Boththeanalysesandfieldinvestigationindicatethattherelativelyslowincreaseofresidentialwateruseinrecentyearsmayresultfromtheimplementationofstrictlawsandregulationsonwaterconservation.Andthroughtheinvestigation,first-handinformationaboutwaterconsumptionpattern,waterreuse/conservation,people'sattitudetowardwaterquantityandquality,etc.havebeenobtained.

  • 简介:ImprovingtherurallivingenvironmentinruralChinaisoneofthekeytasksforthecountrytoaccomplishitsgoalofbuildingamoderatelyprosperoussocietyby2020.Yunnanhashighlyfocusedonthetaskofthetreatmentofresidentialdomesticsewageandhouseholdgarbageinruralarea.ManyeffortsandresourceshavebeenputintothisfieldinYunnansince2016.Progresshasbeenmadetoincreasethecoveragerateofthesewageandhouseholdgarbagetreatmentfacilities.Seventy-fivepercentoftotaladministrativevillageshavebuiltupgarbagetransportationsystemandtreatmentfacilities.Sixty-threepercentoftownshavecollectedandtreatedtheresidentialdomesticsewagebyconstructingvariousscalesewagetreatmentstations.However,thelackofthelong-actingoperationmechanismandtheimperfectionofthechargerulesforthesewageandgarbagetreatmentfacilitieshavebecomeproblemsthatwouldhindertheachievingoftheenvironmentalgoalsinYunnan.Thereasonswereelaboratedonthebasisofthelocalactualsituations.Therefore,itissignificanttoimprovethechargerulesandframethelong-actingoperationmechanismbystrengtheningthegovernancecapacity,frameanoverallmechanismandencouragethemasstobeinvolvedintheimprovementsofthelivingenvironmentinruralYunnan.

  • 简介:摘要:近年来我国人防工程数量得到了快速增长,随之带来的维护管理工作中的问题越来越引发各级部门的重视。本文经过对马鞍山市人防工程维护管理情况的调查,分析了当前居住人防工程使用过程中存在的三大问题,同时通过总结欧美国家先进管理经验和国内不同省份出台的相关管理规定,抓住了维护管理工作中的主要矛盾,针对性的提出了维护管理基金概念及其补充措施,优化人防工程设计理念,进而有效提升我国人防工程维护管理工作水平。
