摘要
ResidentialwateruseisgraduallybecomingthefocusinChina'smunicipalwatersupplyplanningandmanagementinrecentyears.Littleisknown,however,abouttheresidentialwateruseinmodemChinaduetothetransitionofeconomyandenhancementofmanagementonwaterconservation.InordertobetterunderstandthecharacteristicsofresidentialwateruseinNorthChina,amodelforidentifyingthedeterminantsofresidentialwaterusewasestablishedandanalyzedbyusingpaneldataandcross-sectiondatamethodologies.ThenTaiyuancity,thecapitalcityofShanxiProvinceinNorthernChinawasselectedasacasestudy.Boththeanalysesandfieldinvestigationindicatethattherelativelyslowincreaseofresidentialwateruseinrecentyearsmayresultfromtheimplementationofstrictlawsandregulationsonwaterconservation.Andthroughtheinvestigation,first-handinformationaboutwaterconsumptionpattern,waterreuse/conservation,people'sattitudetowardwaterquantityandquality,etc.havebeenobtained.
