  • 简介:Benignparoxysmalpositionalvertigo(BPPV)isprobablythemostcommondiagnosisatvertigoclinics.Seasonalcyclesofseveralhumanillnessescouldbeattributedvariouslytochangesinatmosphericorweatherconditions.Inthisretrospectivestudy,patientswithBPPVfromJanuary2010toDecember2012werestudied,andtheirchartswerereviewed.Statisticalanalysisrevealedastatisticallysignificantdifferenceinpatients’numbersamongdifferentmonthsoftheyear.Alsothereisasignificantstatisticalcorrelationbetweenthenumbersofpatientswithclimaticvariationsespeciallythetemperature.ThepresentpaperdiscussesthepossibleexplanationsfortheseresultswhichconfirmstheseasonalvariationsinBPPV,togetherwithareviewofliteraturetoviewthepossibleassociationswithotherdisordersthatcausessuchseasonality.

  • 简介:Describedisanewtechniqueofdecade-scaleclimaticforecasting,presentedbyacombinationofwaveletanalysisandstochasticdynamics.ThetechniqueisalsoappliedtodiagnosingandforecastingthedurationtimeofdryandwetclimatesinthedecadalhierarchyofdifferentareasinChina.Resultsshowthatinthedecadalhierarchy,thenorth,southwest,andsoutheastofChinaareareaswherevariouskindsoffrequentclimatedisastersappear;droughtseasilyoccurinthenorthandnorthwest,whilefloodsoftenoccurinSouthChina.Becausethismodelingtechniqueisbasedontimeseriesdata,itcanalsobeappliedinthemodelingandforecastingofsuchtimeseriesashydrology,earthquakesandecology.

  • 简介:IntermsofERBEandISCCPdata.andmeasured/calculatedsurfacenetradiation,computationisperformedoftheclimaticcharacteristicsofANR(atmosphericnetradiation)acrossChinaalongsidewiththediscussionandrelationstoothertwokindsofradiationandcontributingfactors.EvidencesuggestsahighlinearcorrelationofANRwithatmosphere-absorbedshortwaveradiation.wherebycanbeestablishedageneralexpressionforANR,whichdecreasesmoresharplyasafunctionofaltitudeandincreasesslightlywithlatitudeinsummer,andchangesuniformlyinwinter.Eventually,acomparisonismadeofthefindingspresentedinthispaperandliteraturesregardingtheANRpatternandmagnitudes,indicatingtheirgreatdifference.

  • 简介:Objective:ThisstudyaimstoexploretheassociationbetweenthedensityofHimalayanmarmot(Marmotahimalayana)andclimaticfactorssuchastemperature,precipitation,humidity,vapourpressure,sunshinepercentage,windvelocity,whicharecloselyassociatedwithglobalclimatechange,andtoprovideareferenceforplaguepreventionandcontrol.Methods:WeconductedaregressionanalysistofindthepossibleclimatefactorsassociatedwiththedensityofHimalayamarmot,andanalyzedtheresponsecharactersofHimalayanmarmottoclimatechange.Results:Dailyprecipitationdays(>=0.1mm)andsunshinepercentageweresignificantlyassociatedwiththedensityofHimalayanmarmot(p<0.01).Conclusion:Climatechangewasassociatedwiththeriskofplague.ThisphenomenonisvaluableforHimalayanmarmotandplagueprevention.MorestudiesareneededtounderstandtheimpactofclimatechangeonHimalayanmarmotandplague.

  • 简介:Thelowlatitudeeasterliesat200hPainsummer(May-October)isanalysedclimaticallyduringthe13-yearperiodfrom1968to1980,withaspecialemphasisontherelationshipsbetweentheanomaloustropicaleasterlyjetStreamoverSouthAsiaandthelowlatitudeatmosphericcirculation,andalsothesummermonsoonprecipitationinIndia.ThecompositinganalysisshowsthatthetropicaleasterlyjetstreamoverSouthAsiahasfiveanomalouspatternsat200hPai.e.thewesternpattern,middlepattern,easternpattern,two-branchpatternandmulti-corepattern.EvidencehasshownthattheprecipitaioninIndiaanomalouslyincreasedduringtheanomalousperiodofthewesternpatternandthemiddlepattern,butreversecaseistrueintheeasternpattern.SomedifferentanomaliesoftheprecipitationindifferentareaofIndiawerefoundduringtheothertwoanomalouspattern.

  • 简介:Thespringpersistentrains(SPR)oversoutheasternChina(SEC)areauniquesynopticandclimaticphenomenoninEastAsia.AformerstudyhasfoundthatthesouthwesterlyflowwhichliesonthesoutheasternflankoftheTibetanPlateau(TP)isoneofthedeflectedwesterlyflowsoftheTP,anditissuggestedtobethedirectclimaticcauseofSPR.ThisstudyfoundthatthesouthwesterlyflowisalsohighlycorrelatedwiththesensibleheatingofthesoutheasternTPininterannualvariability,inadditiontohavingahighcorrelationinseasonalvariability.ThesefactssuggestthatthethermalforcingoftheTPisanotherimportantclimaticcauseofSPR.NumericalsensitivityexperimentsfurtherprovethatthemechanicalandthermalforcingsoftheTParetheclimaticcausesoftheformationoftheSPR.Ontheotherhand,theNanlingMountainsandWuyiMountains(NWM)oversoutheasternChinanotonlyincreasetheSPRprecipitationamountevidently,butalsomaketheSPRrainbeltmovetothesouthbyblockingthestrongsouthwesterlyflow.

  • 简介:Background:Soilorganiccarbon(SOC)isalargereservoirofterrestrialcarbon(C);itconsistsofdifferentfractionsofvaryingcomplexityandstability.PartitioningSOCintodifferentpoolsofdecomposabilityhelpbetterpredictthetrendofchangesinSOCdynamicsunderclimatechange.InformationonhowphysicalfractionsandchemicalstructuresofSOCarerelatedtoclimateandvegetationtypesisessentialforspatialmodelingofSOCprocessesandresponsestoglobalchangefactors.Method:Soilsampleswerecolectedfrommultiplerepresentativeforestsitesofthreecontrastingclimaticzones(i.e.cooltemperate,warmtemperate,andsubtropical)ineasternChina.MeasurementsweremadeonSOCcontentsandphysicalfractionsofthe0–20cmsoillayer,andthechemicalcompositionofSOCofthe0–5cmsoillayer,alongwithmeasurementsandcompilationofthebasicsiteandforeststandvariables.Thelong-termeffectsoftemperature,litterinputs,soilcharacteristicsandvegetationtypeontheSOCcontentsandfactionswereexaminedbymeansof"spacefortimesubstitution"approachandstatisticalanalysis.Result:Meanannualtemperature(MAT)variedfrom2.1℃atthecooltemperatesitesto20.8℃atthesubtropicalsites.TotalSOCofthe0–20cmsoillayerdecreasedwithincreasingMAT,rangingfrom89.2g·kg^-1incooltemperateforeststo57.7g·kg^-1insubtropicalforests,atanaveragerateof1.87%reductioninSOCwitha1℃increaseinMAT.WithincreasingMAT,theproportionsofaromaticCandphenolicCdisplayedatendencyofdecreases,whereastheproportionofalkylCandA/O-Avalue(theratioofalkylCtothesumofO-alkylCandacetalC)displayedatendencyofincreases.Overall,therewerenosignificantchangeswithMATandforesttypeineitherthephysicalfractionsorthechemicalcomposition.BasedontherelationshipbetweentheSOCcontentandMAT,weestimatethatSOCinthetop20soillayerofforestspotentiallycontribute6.58–26.3PgCgloballytotheat
