Basedonthepremisethattheadditionofglassbeads(GB)couldhardlyinfluencethelinearviscoelasticityinlowfrequency(ω)regionforhomogeneouspolymersystems,thedynamicrheologicalbehaviorsofunfilledandfilledpoly(methylmethyacrylate)(PMMA)/poly(styrene-co-acrylonitrile)(SAN)blendswerestudiedinordertoexploretheeffectofGBonthephase-separationofbinarypolymermatrix.ResultsshowthatGBhasaninducedeffectonthephase-separation,whichembodiesthatthephase-separationtemperature(T_s)ofPMMA/SANblendfilledwithGBislowerthanthatoftheunfilledsystem.ThehighercontentofGB,thehigheristhe“secondaryplateau”ofωintheterminalregionofstoragemodulus(G')versusωplot.The“secondaryplateau”appearingintheterminalregionisattributedtothephase-separationofPMMA/SANblendsanditbecomesmoreflatforfilledpolymerblendsunderthesameconditions.However,itissuggestedthatthiskindof“inducedeffect”isrelatedtotheGBcontent;thehighercontentofGBparticlesmightenhancetheinteractionbetweentheparticlesandpolymermatrix.Moreover,itisfoundthattheadditionofGBalsohasaninfluencemoreorlessonthemorphologyanddomainsizeofpolymermatrix.Itisbelievedthattheplotofdynamicviscosity(η')versusthelossviscosity(η')issensitivetoexaminetheeffectinducedbyGBonthephase-separationofbinarypolymermatrix.
