Objective:Toobservetherevascularizationandtheopportunityofcross-fingerflap.Methods:Ananimalmodelwasdevelopedtopermitdailymonitoringofneovascularizationoftheflapwithautoradiography,tissuetransparenttechnique,grossobservationandhistologicalexamination.Results:Therevascularizationoftheflapwaschieflyraisedfromthesurroundingtissues.Thepediclesof334cross-fingerflapsofthepatientsweresuccessfullypidedfrom1to5dafteroperations,averagely3.3d.Allofthecasesshowedsatisfatoryresultsaccordingtoafollow-upsurveyof3to72mon.theresultsfurtherprovedthattherevascularizationofthecross-fingerflapshadaccomplishedwithin3d.Conclusions:Itsuggeststhatthepisionofacrossfingerflapcanbecarriedoutbetweenthe3rdand5thdayafteroperationwithahighdegreeofsafety.
