Advancedgastriccancer(GC)hasbeenrecognizedaslethaldiseasewhenperitonealmetastases(PM)occurred.ThereisnostandardtreatmentforadvancedGCwithPM.Until1980s,thetherapeuticarenaforthesepatientshadremainedstagnant,withnotherapeuticapproachhavingshownasurvivalgaininGCwithPM.However,cytoreductivesurgery(CRS)withperitonectomyproceduresandintraperitonealchemotherapy(IPC)promisingnewcombinedtherapeuticapproachtoachievediseasecontrolforGCwithPM.TherecentpublicationschangedtheGCwithPMtreatmentlandscapebyprovidinganevidencethatCRSandIPCledtoprolongationinoverallsurvival(OS).ThisreviewwillprovideanoverviewoftheevolvingroleofCRSandIPCinthemanagementofadvancedGCwithPMinthecurrentera.
