Toimprovemicrowavehyperthevmiaincancertherapy,thethermaleffectoffer-rimagneticresonance(FMR)duringmicrowaveirradiationwasstudied.Resonanttemperatureelevation(RTE)ofsinglecrystalgrainandpolycrystalpowderofresonantmediawasmeasuredaloneandinimitativemuscleandeggwhiteandinmice.TheresultsindicatedthattheRTEproducedbyFMRcouldbeusedtoimprovepenetrationdeepness,heatingselectivityandtemperaturedistributionofmicrowavehyperthermiaincancertreatment.ItwasexpectedthatthepotentialfunctionoftheFMRheatingsystemwouldbeex-ploitedgreatlyforcancertherapy,andthenmagneticallyguidedmicrowavehyperthermiathera-py,chemotherapy,radiotherapyandimmunotherapymighthecombinedmultiplywithinthissys-tembymeansofthestaticmagneticfield(SMF)andmagneticmicrocarrier.Limitationofreso-nantheatingwasalsodiscussedinthispaper.
