Distribution characteristics of inertial sediment particles in the turbulent boundary layer of an open channel flow determined using Voronoi analysis

摘要 ThispaperpresentsthenumericalinvestigationofthedistributionofinertialsedimentparticlesintheturbulentboundarylayerofanopenchannelflowwiththeparticleStokesnumberrangingfrom0.6to20.4.Themethodologyisacombinationofthreenumericalapproaches,i.e.directnumericalsimulationofturbulentflow,thepoint-particleimmersedboundarymethod,andthediscreteparticlemethod.ByapplyingtheVorono?analysis,thepreferentialconcentrationcharacteristicsofsedimentparticleswereinvestigatedquantitatively.ItwasfoundthatthenormalizedareaoftheVorono?cellsfollowsalognormalparticledistribution.Theinertialsedimentparticlesdistributedunevenlyintheturbulentboundarylayerandtheunevenness,governedbytheparticleStokesnumber,wasmoresignificantastheparticleStokesnumberapproachesunity.Theinertialsedimentparticlesintheturbulentboundarylayeraccumulatedpreferentiallyinstreamwise-alignedstreakystructuresandthispatternwaslesssignificantwithincreasingparticleStokesnumber.
