Mechanical properties of WC-Co coatings with different decarburization levels

摘要 Inthisstudy,twokindsofWC–Cocoatingswithdifferentdecarburizationlevelsweredepositedbyhigh-velocityoxy-fuel(HVOF)sprayingusingtheultrafineWC–Cocompositepowderandcommercialmicronsizedpowder,respectively.Thehardnessandelasticmodulusweremeasuredonthetopsurfaceandcrosssectionsofthepreparedcoatingsbythenanoindentationmethod.Theresultsshowthattheultrafine-structuredcoatinghasmuchhigherdensityandinhibiteddecarburizationthantheconventionalcoating,whichthusresultsinhigherhardnessandelasticmodulusvaluesthanthemicronsizedcoating.Thewearresistanceofthermal-sprayedcermetcoatingsgreatlydependsonthecross-sectionalhardnessandelasticmoduluswhichreflectsthebondstrengthbetweensplatstosomeextent.Basedontheanalysis,abetterunderstandingofthemicrostructureandpropertiesincermetcoatingmaterialswasobtained.
