  • 简介:Amodifiedsuctioncaisson(MSC),whichwasreportedbytheauthorsofthispaperpreviously,comprisesanexternalshort-skirtedstructurethatisaddedtoaregularsuctioncaisson(RSC).IthasbeenprovedthatMSCscanimprovethelateralbearingcapacityandlimitthedeflectionofthecaissoncomparedwithRSCs.AseriesofmodeltestswereconductedtoinvestigateresponsesofMSCssubjecttoupliftloadinginsaturatedsand.TheeffectsofexternalskirtdimensionsontheupliftbearingcapacityofMSCswereconsidered.Inaddition,theinfluencesofthesealedtoplidoftheskirtedstructureontheupliftbearingcapacityandtheresultingpassivesuctionofMSCswerealsostudied.ItwasfoundthattheupliftbearingcapacitiesofMSCsare1.4-1.7timesthatofRSCs.Moreover,testresultsinserviceableconditionsshowthatthesealedexternalskirtedstructureofperspex-madesuctioncaissonssignificantlycontributedtotheupliftbearingcapacityasaresultofpassivesuction.

  • 简介:Microbe-inducedcalciteprecipitationisasustainableimprovementtechniqueforsandysoil,whichcanalterthepropertiesofsandviamicrobialactivity.Inthisstudy,weinvestigatedtheloose-sand-consolidationeffectbycontrollingtheinjectionvelocity,bacterialandcementingsolutionconcentrations,andholdtimes.Theresultsdemonstratethat,asthecyclicbatchincreases,theutilizationrateofthebacterialfluidincreasesandboththeopticaldensity(OD600)ofthebacteriaandureaseactivitydecrease.Moreover,itwasdeterminedthata3-hholdtimefora0.5mol/Lcementingsolutionwithacementingfluidvelocityof2mL/minhasthegreatestbondingeffect.Thefinalstrengthoftheloosesandwithanincreaseincalciumcarbonatecontentwasfurtherdiscussed.

  • 简介:Thewide-shallowcompositebucketfoundation(WSCBF)isanewtypeofoffshorewindpowerfoundationthatcanbebuiltonlandandrapidlyinstalledoffshore,therebyeffectivelyreducingtheconstructiontimeandcostsofoffshorewindpowerfoundation.Inthisstudy,thehorizontalbearingcapacityiscalculatedbyfiniteelementsimulationandcomparedwithtestresultstoverifythevalidityofresults.Inthisprocess,theverticalloadandbendingloadarerespectivelycalculatedbythefiniteelementsimulation.Undertheverticalloadeffect,thebucketfoundationandthesoilinsideareregardedasawhole,andthecorrespondingbucklingfailuremodeisobtained.Theultimateverticalbearingcapacityiscalculatedusingempiricalandtheoreticalformulas;thetheoreticalformulaisalsorevisedbyfiniteelementresults.Underbendingload,therotationalcenterofthecompositebucketfoundation(inaregionclosetothebucketbottom)graduallymovesfromtheleftofthecentralaxis(reversetoloadingdirection)tothenearbycompartmentboardsalongtheloadingdirection.TheH–Menvelopelineshowsalinearrelationship,anditisdeterminedthattheverticalandbendingultimatebearingcapacitiescanbeimprovedbyanappropriateverticalload.
