  • 简介:ApresentstatusofthediagnosticsinEASTispresented.AsaveryimportantstepoftheEASTproject,tensofdiagnosticswereemployedforoperationandprotectionofthemachine,plasmacontrolandphysicsanalysistoaccommodaterequirementforthestudyonplasmaperformanceinEASTwithupgradedradiofrequency(RF)injectionpowerupto4MW(bothLHCDandICRF)intheforthcomingyears.Recently,newdiagnosticsaresetuptoprovideseveralprofilesofkeyplasmaparametersforthefurtherevaluationandbetterunderstandingoftheplasmaperformanceandphysicsinEAST,includinga25-channelThomsonscatteringsystemfordensityandelectrontemperature,ametalbolometryforradiatedpower,anX-raycrystalspectroscopyforbothionandelectrontemperaturesandplasmarotationvelocity,etc.Itisexpectedthatthesediagnosticswouldplayanimportantroleindataanalysisandinterpretationcombinedwithintegratedmodeling.

  • 简介:DuetothecomplicatedconstitutionandhighprecisionrequirementsoftheEASTsuperconductingtokamak,ameticulousassemblingprocedureandmeasurementschememustbeestablished.ThebigsizeandmassoftheEASTmachine'scomponentsandcomplicatedconfigurationwithtightinstallationtolerancescallforahighlycarefulassemblingprocedure.Theassemblingprocedureconsistsofthreemainsub-proceduresfortheassemblingofthebase,ofthetorioftheVV,thevacuumvesselTSandtheTF,andoftheperipheralpartsrespectively.Beforetheassembly,areferenceframeworkhasbeensetupbymeansofanindustrialmeasurementsystemwithreferencefiducialtargetsfixedonthewallofthetesthall.Inthispaper,theassemblingprocedureisdescribedindetail,thesurveycontrolsystemoftheassemblyisdiscussed,andprogressintheassemblyworkisalsoreported.

  • 简介:AtypeofsilicondetectorknownasAXUV(absoluteextremeultraviolet)photodiodesissuccessfullyusedtomeasuretheradiatedpowerinEAST.Thedetectorischaracterizedbycompactstructure,fasttemporalresponse(<0.5s)andflatspectralsensitivityintherangefromultra-violettoX-ray.Two16-channelAXUVarraysareinstalledinEASTtoviewthewholepoloidalcross-sectionofplasma.Basedonthediagnosticsystem,typicalradiationdistributionsforbothlimiteranddivertorplasmaareobtainedandcompared.Asdivertordetachmentoccurs,theradiationdistributioninX-pointregionisobservedtovarydistinctly.Thetotalradiationpowerlossesindischargeswithdifferentplasmaparametersarebrieflyanalyzed.

  • 简介:NeutralbeaminjectorforEASTisdesignedtodeliverdeuteriumbeamswithapowerof2MWto4MWatanenergyof50keVto80keVintotheplasmawithabeamdimensionof12cm×48cm.Consideringthebeamgenerationandtransmission,acolumniformbeam-lineofΦ250cm×400cmisdesignedwithaneutralizer,iondump,calorimeter,bendingmagnetandcryopanels.Thearrangementoftheinternalelementsforthebeam-lineisreported.Arectangularsleevecoupledtotheionsourceisemployedastheneutralizer.Atthedownstreamoftheneutralizer,adipolemagnetseparatestheresidualionsfromthebeampassagewithareflectionradiusof42cmforthefullenergyparticles.Thecalorimeterandtheiondumpserveashighheatfluxcomponents,whichwillworkasthermalinertiatargetsinthefirstphaseofoperation.

  • 简介:AnewpelletinjectionsystemwasinstalledontheEASTtokamakandpreliminaryexperimentswereperformedduringthe2012runcampaign.TypicalphenomenaassociatedwithdeuteriumpelletinjectionintoaplasmadischargehavebeenobservedincludingsuddenincreasesoftheelectrondensityandHα/Dαemissionintensityaswellasasignificantdecreaseinplasmaelectrontemperature.ProfileshavebeenstudiedinordertounderstandtheinfluenceofpelletfuellingonEASTdischarges.Eventhoughtheinjectorwasspecificallydesignedforplasmafuelling,ELMtriggeringusingthepelletinjectionhasalsobeentested.InordertofindappropriateparametersfortriggeringELMsinH-modeplasmas,scanningofthepelletinjectionspeedwasemployedforpelletsinjectedfromboththehighfieldsideandlowfieldsideoftheplasmacolumn.Ithasbeenobservedthatlow-speedpelletsinjectedintoH-modeplasmafromthelow-fieldsidecouldtriggeranELMfollowedbyanumberofsmallerinducedELMsatabout300Hz.

  • 简介:Thepedestalcharacteristicisanimportantbasisforhighconfinementmode(Hmode)research.BecauseofthefinitespatialresolutionofThomsonscattering(TS)diagnosticonExperimentalAdvancedSuperconductingTokamak(EAST),itisnecessarytocharacterizethepedestalwithasuitablefunctionalform.BasedonsimulatedandexperimentaldataofEAST,itisshownthatthetwo-linemethodwithabilinearfittinghasbetterreproducibilityofpedestalparametersthanhyperbolictangent(tanh)andmodifiedhyperbolictangent(mtanh)methods.ThismethodhasbeenappliedtoEASTtypeIedgelocalizedmode(ELM)discharges,andtheelectronpedestaldensityisfoundtobeproportionaltotheline-averageddensityandtheedgepressuregradientisfoundtobeproportionaltothepedestalpressure.Furthermore,theionpoloidalgyro-radiushasbeenidentifiedasthesuitableparametertodescribethepedestalpressurewidth.

  • 简介:Theconductorsofboththetoroidalfield(TF)andpoloidalfield(PF)coilsofEASTareNiTicable-in-conduitconductors(CICCs).ThesizesofthistypeofCICCare20.3mm×20.3mmand18.5mm~18.5mmrespectively.ArelevantR&DprogramhasbeencarriedoutforthreeyearsattheResearchandManufactureCenter(RMC)oftheInstituteofPlasmaPhysics,ChineseAcademyofSciences(ASIPP)toacquirethemanufacturingtechniquesandmasterthebehaviorofthetestingjoints.Basedontheexperiencegainedfromthemanufactureandtestofasub-cablejoint,threekindsofjointsweremade.Thefinaldesignwasdeterminedaftercarefullyevaluatingtheirsimplemechanism,goodcoolingline,lowerAClossandresistance,compactsize,andconvenienceformanufactureandon-siteassembly.Twostepsweredevelopedtocarryoutthefinaljoint.Thefirststepwasformingtheterminals'superconductors.Thesecondstepwasclampingthetwoterminalstogethertoensuretheirgoodcontactwiththecopperconductorsole.Thetwoterminalscouldbeconnectedindifferentdirectionstogettwokindsofconductorconnections.Ahydraulicinstrumentwasdevelopedtoimpacttheterminals.Itcouldimpacttheterminalsinhighaccuracyintermsoftheirsizeandshape.Thecrosssectionoftheterminalwastriedincircularandanellipticshape.Fivefull-sizejointsweremadeaccordingtothedesignandthentested.Whentheyweretestedinbathingcoldcondition,theirresistancewasfrom2nΩto4nΩ.Thelatestjointwastestedinrealworkingconditionswheretheresistancevariedfrom2nΩto12nΩ,dependingonthetestingcurrentrangingfrom2kAto10kA.

  • 简介:SawtoothcontrolexperimentswereperformedonHT-7withalimiterconfigurationandontheExperimentalAdvancedSuperconductingTokamak(EAST)withadoublenullcon-figuration.Thesawtoothperiodcanbemodifiedbylowerhybridwave(LHW)andioncyclotronresonancefrequency(ICRF).Differentsawtoothbehaviorwasobservedwiththesameplasmadensity,LHWpowerbutdifferentplasmacurrentsonHT-7.TherewasadwelltimebetweenLHWaddedandthesawtoothstabilizationonHT-7whilethesawtoothstabilizationimmediatelyhappenedwhenLHWpowerwasinjectedonEAST.Thepossiblemechanismofthesawtoothcontrolisdiscussedinthispaper.Alltheexperimentalresultshaveprovedthatpowerdepositionoftheradiofrequency(RF)shouldbethekeyfactorforsawtoothcontrol.

  • 简介:Neutrondiagnostics,includingfluxandenergyspectrummeasurements,havebeenappliedontheexperimentaladvancedsuperconductingtokamak(EAST).TheabsolutecalibrationofneutronyieldshasbeenachievedbyacalculationmethodusingtheMonteCarloautomaticmodeling(MCAM)systemandtheMonteCarloN-Particles(MCNP)code.Sincetheneutronyieldiscloselyrelatedwiththeiondensityandtemperature,itisagoodmeasureofplasmaperformance,especiallythewaveheatingeffect.Inioncyclotronrangeoffrequencies(ICRF)experiments,theincreaseintheiontemperaturederivedbytheneutronyieldindicatesaneffectiveplasmaheating.Minorityprotonsdampalargefractionofthetotalwavepower,andthentransferpartoftheenergytodeuteriumbycollisions.NeutronspectrummeasurementsalsoindicatethatnotailiscreatedbyhighenergydeuteronsduringICRFheating.However,theiontemperaturederivedbytheneutronyieldisconsistentwiththeresultbyusingapoloidalX-rayimagingcrystalspectrometer(PXCS),showingareliabletransportcalculation.

  • 简介:Consideringutilizationoftheoriginalchromium-bronzematerial,twoprocessingtechniquesincludinghydraulicexpansionandhightemperaturevacuumweldingwereproposedfortheoptimizationofheat-sinkstructureinEAST.Theheattransferperformanceofheat-sinkwithorwithoutcoolingtubewascalculatedanddifferenttypesofconnectionbetweentubeandheat-sinkwerecomparedbyconductingaspecialtest.Itisshownfromnumericalanalysisthatthediameterofheat-sinkchannelcanbereducedfrom12mmto10mm.Comparedwiththeoriginalsample,thethermalcontactresistancebetweentubeandheat-sinkforweldingsamplecanreducetheheattransferperformanceby10%,whileby20%forthehydraulicexpansionsample.However,theweldingtechniqueismorecomplicatedandexpensivethanhydraulicexpansiontechnique.Boththeprocessingtechniqueandtheheattransferperformanceofheat-sinkprototypeshouldbefurtherconsideredfortheoptimizationofheat-sinkstructureinEAST.

  • 简介:EAST(experimentaladvancedsuperconductingtokamak)isanadvancedsteadystateplasmaphysicsexperimentaldevice,whichisbeingconstructedastheChineseNationalNuclearFusionResearchProject.Duringtheplasmaoperationthevacuumvesselasoneofthekeycomponentwillwithstandtheelectromagneticforceduetotheplasmadisruption,theHalocurrentandthetoroidalfieldcoilquench,thepressureofboridewaterandthethermalloaddueto250℃bakingbypressurizednitrogengas.Inthispaperareportofthestaticanddynamicmechanicalanalysesofthevacuumvesselismade.Firstlytheappliedloadsonthevacuumvesselweregivenandthestaticstressdistributionunderthegravitationalloads,thepressureloads,theelectromagneticloadsandthermalloadswereinvestigated.Thenaseriesofprimarydynamic,bucklingandfatiguelifeanalyseswereperformedtopredictthestructure'sdynamicbehavior.Aseismicanalysiswasalsoconducted.
