Themovementofwaterflowinunsaturatedfracturedrockwasinvestigatedwiththesandstonesamplethroughexperimentalresearchandnumericalsimulation.Theexperimentalresultsshowthatthearrivingtimeofwettingfrontisdelayedbythefracture,resultingintheincreaseofwatersaturationinthedomainontheupstreamsideofthefracture,whichwilllocallyenhancewaterflowthroughthematrix.Thenumericalsimulationwiththefinitevolumemethodcaptureseffectivelythesecharacteristics.Thecomparisonbetweensimulatedandobservedtraveltimeandarrivingtimeofwettingfrontshowsthattheirdifferenceareverysmallandthesimulatedresultsareinagreementwiththeobservedresults,whichimpliescalibratedparametersarereliableandeffective.Thenaccordingtothecalibratedparameters,fracturedmodelswereestablishedtoexaminehowthechangeoflargefracturedaperturewouldaffectthearrivingtimeofwettingfronts,pressureheadsandwatersaturationontheupstreamanddownstreamsidesoffracture.
