Thedeterminationofthesoundpowerofasourceissimpleinareverberationchamber,butusuallylowervalvesareobtainedatlowfrequenciesthanthefree-spacevalue.Itisshownthatthesoundpowerdeterminedinareverberationchamberdependsnotonlyonitsfree-spacepower,butalsoonthepositionsofthesourceandthereveiver,aswellasthewaythemeasurementsaremadeandaveraged.Exactandstatisticalformulasarederivedtoaccountforthesefactors.Theresultsexplainthediscrepancyandagreewellwithearlierexperiments.Basedonthetheory,parcticabletechniquesofsoundpowerdetermina-tionarepropesedandcorrectpowerformulaspresented.
