Quartercircularbreakwater(QCB)isanew-typebreakwaterdevelopedfromsemi-circularbreakwater(SCB).ThesuperstructureofQCBiscomposedofaquartercircularfrontwall,ahorizontalbaseslabandaverticalrearwall.ThewidthofQCB'sbaseslabisabouthalfthatofSCB,whichmakesQCBsuitabletobeusedonrelativelyfirmsoilfoundation.ThenumericalwaveflumebasedontheReynoldsaveragedNavier-StokesequationsforimpressibleviscosityfluidisadoptedinthispapertosimulatethehydraulicperformancesofQCB.SincethegeometryofbothbreakwatersissimilarandSCBhasbeenstudiedindepth,thehydraulicperformancesofQCBaregivenincomparisonwiththoseofSCB.
