Anewtypeofnon-preheatedhardfacingelectrodewasdevelopedusingH08Aasthecoreandthecoatcontentsincludingferrotitanium,ferrovanadium,graphite,rutileetc.Themicrostructuresandpropertiesofhardfacingmetalweresystematicallyresearched.Theresultsshowthehardnessofhardfacingmetalincreaseswithincreasingofferrotitanium,ferrovanadium,graphiteinthecoat,butthecrackresistanceandprocessingweldabilitybecomeworse.Thecarbidesformedbyarcmetallurgicreactionareuniformlydispersedinthematrixstructure.Thephasesofhardfacingmetalconsistofα-Fe,γ-Fe,VC,TiCandFe3C.ThecarbidesarecompressionaggregationofTiCandVC,andtheirappearancespresentirregularblock.Thematrixmicrostructureofhardfacingmetalislathmartensite.Thehardfacinglayerswithbettercrackresistanceandwearabilityareachievedandnovisiblecracksoccurwhenusingnon-preheatedelectrodeincontinuousweldingprocess.Hardnessofhardfacingmetalismorethan60HRC,anditsrelativewearabilityisfivetimesofwearabilityofD667electrodeinabrasiveweartest.
