Athermalconductionmodelisappliedtospeedupthenumericalanalysisofthetemperaturedistributionandtheweldpoolgeometryoffullpenetrationingastungstenarc(GTA)welding.Withconsideringbothtopandbottomfreesurfacedeformationoffull-penetratedweldpool,three-dimensionalweldpoolwithmeltingfrontandsolidificationfrontispredicted.Weldingexperimentsareconductedtomeasurethemeltingfrontcurvesatthetopsurfaceandthelongitudinalsectionoftheweld.Itshowsthatthepredictedandmeasuredresultsareingoodagreement.
