MultistagesuperimposeddeformationhasbeendiscussedsystematicallybasedontheprogressofthestratigraphicsequencesofthenortheasternmarginofYangtzeBlock.Thenew-discoveredfirststagedeformationofthosesequencesoccurredfromthemiddleTriassictotheendofearlyJurassictogetherwithdevelopmentofregionalfolding,whichwasresultedfromthedeepdetachmentshearingtendingtowardNW-WNW.Thefoldsdiptoeastandfalldowntowardwest,andweresuperimposedbythemainstagefolding.Thereafter,aseriesoffoldsweredevelopedwithaxestrendingtowardnortheast.Consequentlynormalfoldsoccurredonthenormallimbswhileoverturnedfoldontheoverturnedlimbsduringthefirststagefolding.ThedetachmentorthrustwasformedfromlateJurassictoearlyCretaceous.DuetotheupliftingofDabieandtheWannanMountainsinthenorthandsouthsides,thebi-directionalthrustingbeltwasformedbygravityflowingfromtheMountainstowardthecenterofthebasinalongthenorthsideofXuanchengandsouthsideofGuichi.Thedeformationgeodynamicswasdiscussedsimplybasedonthenewlyrecognizedinformationaboutthetectonicevolution.
