Thisstudywasundertakentohaveabetterunderstandfortheprocessandtheunderlyingmechanismstolimitmacrophageactivationandpopulationofactivatedmacrophages.AcomprehensivekineticsofcytokineproductionwasperformedinmurineperitonealmacrophagesrecoveredfromBalb/cmiceatvarioustimeduringthecourseofanintraperitonealinjectionwiththioglycollate(TG).TheexpressionofcellsurfacemoleculessuchasMHC-Ⅰ,MHC-Ⅱ,B7-1andB7-2ofthesemacrophageswerealsodeterminedbyflowcytometry.Thepresentfindingsofourresearchsuggestedthatthepopulationofactivatedmacrophagesandtheactivationofmacrophages(includingcytokinesproductionandexpressionofcellsurfacefunctionalmolecules)werestrictlycontrolledduringinflammationprocess.Thisisoneoftheimportantmechanismstoretainthehosthomeostasis.Cellular&MolecularImmunology.2004;1(1):57-62.
