Engineeringapplicationdomainsneeddatabasemanagementsystemstosupplythemwithagoodmeansofmodeling,ahighdataaccessefficiencyandalanguageinterfacewithstrongfunctionality.Thispaperpresentsasemantichypergraphmodelbasedonrelations,inordertoexpressmany-to-manyrelationsamongobjectsbelongingtodifferentsemanticclassesinengineeringapplications.Amanagementmechanismexpressedbythemodelandthebasicdataofengineeringdatabasesaremanagedinmainmemory.Especially,differentobjectsarelinkedbydifferentkindsofsemanticsdefinedbyusers,thereforethetableswap,therecordswapandsomeunnecessaryexaminationsarreducedandtheaccessefficiencyoftheengineeringdataisincreased.Clanguageinterfacethatincludessomegenericandspecialfunctionalityisproposedforcloserconnectionwithapplicationprograms.
