Causesinducingsubacutethyroiditishavebeenunclear,butclinicallyitistreatedmostlywithcorticalhormones.Inthepresentpaper,itwasreportedthatonecaseofsubacutethyroiditiswithhyperthyodismatthelatestagewascuredwithacupunctureatRenying(ST9),Fengchi(GB20),Jiajipontsontheneckandotherpoints.Inthetreatment,differentiationofsymptomsandsignswascombinedwithdifferentiationofdisease,selectionofproximalacupointswascombinedwithselectionofdistalacupoints.Thepatientwastreatedinaccordancewithhisphysique.Therefore,thetherapeu-ticeffectswereobtainedrapidly.
