Inthisresearch,acontent-basedimageretrieval(CBIR)systemforhighresolutionsatelliteimageshasbeendevelopedbyusingtexturefeatures.Theproposedapproachusesthelocalbinarypattern(LBP)texturefeatureandablockbasedscheme.Thequeryanddatabaseimagesarepidedintoequallysizedblocks,fromwhichLBPhistogramsareextracted.TheblockhistogramsarethencomparedbyusingtheChi-squaredistance.ExperimentalresultsshowthattheLBPrepresentationprovidesapowerfultoolforhighresolutionsatelliteimages(HRSI)retrieval.
