TheTaoerRiverbasinistheepitomeinthewestofNortheastChinaanditisoneofthemostfragileandsensitiveecoregions.Thus,protectionofwaterqualityoftheTaoerRiverisimportant.Notonlypointsourcepollutionbutnon-pointsource(NPS)pollutionresultsindeterioratingwaterquality.Inthisstudy,long-termhydrologicimpactassessmentmodelwasusedtoevaluatetheimpactsoflandusechangeimpactsonNPSpollution,andthereplacementcostmethodwasusedtocalculatetheeconomiclosscausedbyNPSpollution.ThroughanalyzingtheNPSpollutantloadsofdifferentlandcategoriesandtheeconomicloss,thearticleputsforwardthatthereexistsacloserelationshipbetweenland-usetypesandNPSpollution,andagriculturalpollutionisthemaincomponentoftheNPSpollutioninthisarea.Theresultsofthisstudycanprovidedecision-makingbasisforagriculturaldevelopmentandland-usechange.
