LZ Complexity Distance of DNA Sequences and Its Application in Phylogenetic Tree Reconstruction

摘要 DNAsequencescanbetreatedasfinite-lengthsymbolstringsoverafour-letteralphabet(A,C,T,G).Asauniversalandcomputablecomplexitymeasure,LZcomplexityisvalidtodescribethecomplexityofDNAsequences.Inthisstudy,aconceptofconditionalLZcomplexitybetweentwosequencesisproposedaccordingtotheprincipleofLZcomplexitymeasure.AnLZcomplexitydistancemetricbetweentwononnullsequencesisdefinedbyutilizingconditionalLZcomplexity.BasedonLZcomplexitydistance,aphylogenetictreeof26speciesofplacentalmammals(Eutheria)withthreeoutgroupspecieswasreconstructedfromtheircompletemitochondrialgenomes.Onthedebatethatwhichtwoofthethreemaingroupsofplacentalmammals,namelyPrimates,Ferungulates,andRodents,aremorecloselyrelated,thephylogenetictreereconstructedbasedonLZcomplexitydistancesupportsthesuggestionthatPrimatesandFerungulatesaremorecloselyrelated.
