摘要 Thesuddenoutbreakofsevereacuterespiratorysyndrome(SARS)in2002promptedtheestablishmentofaglobalscientificnetworksubsumingmostofthetraditionalrivalriesinthecompetitivefieldofvirology.WithinmonthsoftheSARSoutbreak,collaborativeworkrevealedtheidentityofthedisastrouspathogenasSARS-associatedcoronavirus(SARS-CoV).However,althoughtherapididentificationoftheagentrepresentedanimportantbreakthrough,ourunderstandingofthedeadlyvirusremainslimited.Detailedbiologicalknowledgeiscrucialforthedevelopmentofeffectivecountermeasures,diagnostictests,vaccinesandantiviraldrugsagainsttheSARS-CoV.ThisarticlereviewsthepresentstateofmolecularknowledgeaboutSARS-CoV,fromtheaspectsofcomparativegenomics,molecularbiologyofviralgenes,evolution,andepidemiology,anddescribesthediagnostictestsandtheanti-viraldrugsderivedsofarbasedontheavailablemolecularinformation.
