摘要
InMarch2017,NarendraModiledhisBharatiyaJanataParty(BJP)tovictoryinstateelections,amongwhichhegainedparliamentaryelectionofUttarPradesh(stateinnorthernIndia),knownastheweathervaneofIndianelections.Backin2014,theBJPhadalreadywonasimplemajorityinLokSabha(thelowerhouseofparliament),bringinganendtomorethan30yearsofcoalitiongovernment.Now,theBJPisexhibitingstrongerpresenceasaone-party-ruleatbothfederalandlocallevels,withnocounter-balancefromtheIndianNationalCongress,localparties,orleftwingpartiesnoworintheforeseeablefuture.ThisincreasesthelikelihoodofModi'sre-electionasprimeministerin2019.Obviously,Indianpoliticaldevelopmentischaracterizedbycomplexity,accidentalfactorsandintrinsiclogic,whichwilldefinitelyexertgreatinfluenceonthefutureofIndia.
