A coherence-based phase aberration correction method in medical ultrasound

摘要 Acoherence-basedcorrectionmethodwasproposedinordertoimprovethelateralresolutionandenhancethecontrastofmedicalultrasoundimaginginthepresenceofphaseaberration.Theaveragedcoherencefactorwasproposedatfirstandusedasametrictoevaluatephaseaberrationcorrection.Bymaximizingtheaveragedcoherencefactor,thetimedelayparameterofeachchannelwasadjusted.AnewsetofcoherencefactorswascalculatedandthecorrecteddatawasoptimizedtoformthefinalB-modeimage.Thesimulationsonpointtargetsandacystphantomshowedthattheproposedmethodoutperformedthenearestneighboringcrosscorrelationmethodandconventionalcoherence-weightingmethod,andthelateralresolutionandcontrastratiowasimprovedbyapproximately0.24mmand18dBrespectively.Theproposedmethodcombinedtheadvantagesofphaseerrorcorrectionandcoherence-weighting,whichcouldimproveimagingqualitieseffectivelyinmedicalultrasound.
