Distribution and geochemical significance of trace elements in shale rocks and their residual kerogens

摘要 Thereisadearthofinformationaboutthedistributionoftraceelementsinkerogenfromshalerocksdespiteseveralreportsontraceelementcompositioninmanyshalesamples.Inthisstudy,traceelementsinshalerocksandtheirresidualkerogensweredeterminedbyinductivelycoupledplasma–massspectrometry.Theresultsfromthisstudyshowredox-sensitiveelementsrelativelyconcentratedinthekerogensascomparedtotheshales.Thismaybeprimarilyduetotheadsorptionandcomplexationabilityofkerogen,whichenablesenrichmentinNi,Co,Cu,andZn.Fortherareearthelements(REEs),distinctdistributioncharacteristicswereobservedforshalesdominatedbyterrigenousmineralsandtheirkerogencounterparts.However,shaleswithlessinputofterrigenousmineralsshowedsimilarREEdistributionpatternstotheirresidualkerogen.ItisspeculatedthatthedistributionpatternsoftheREEsinshalesandkerogensmaybesourcerelated.
