摘要
Retinoblastoma(RB)isthemostcommonintraocularcancerofinfancyandchildhood.ThiscancerisinitiatedbymutationonRB1,thetumorsuppressorgenethatisresponsiblefortheregulationofbothcellcycleandgnomestabilityinretinalcells.PatientswithaconstitutionalmutationonRB1canbeinherited.RBoccursapproximately1inevery15000-20000livebirths.Theworldwidemortalityforthiscancerisabout5%-11%.However,thisraterisestoabout40%-70%indevelopingcountriesduetoadelayindiagnosis.Awidevarietyofoptionsareavailableforthetreatment,butoftenacombinationoftherapiesisadoptedtooptimizeindividualizedcare.
