简介:Thepurposeofthispaperistostudythedynamicbehaviorofsoftgroundincludingaporouslayerbyconsideringtheporositychange.Inordertotaketheporositychangeintoaccount,theconceptofthevolumefraction,whichhasbeenproposedincontinuummechanics,isintroduced.TheconstitutiveequationspresentedbyBowenareappliedtotheanalysisoftheporousmedia.AccordingtoBowen’stheory,theporosityisconsideredasavariablecalledthevolumefractionandhasitsownconsti-tutiveequation.Theconstitutiveequationofthevolumefractionhasthermoelasticequationcoefficientsandisdeterminedbythestrainsofthesolidandthefluid.Thismeansthatthecompressibilitiesofthesolidandthefluidareconsidered.Whenthespecialconditionisassumed,Bowen’stheorycancontainBiots’stheory,whichhasbeenappliedinearthquakeengineering.Thewavepropagationinthegroundincludingaporouslayer,modeledbyBowen’stheory,isstudiedandcomparedwiththatofBiot’stheory.One-di-mensionalattenuationandsurfaceamplitudearecalculated.Theeffectofthevolumefractionisdiscussedwithrespecttothecompressibilitiesofthesolidandthefluid.
