简介:Asamegacitywiththrivingeconomy,Shanghaiisexperiencingrapidmotorisationandconfrontedwithtrafficcongestionproblemsdespiteitslowcarownership.Itisofvaluetolookintothepoliciesonemissioncontrolofmotorvehicleandcongestionreductioninsuchacitytoexplorehowtoreconcilemobilityenhancementwiththeenvironment.ResultsofadynamicsimulationdisplayedtimepathsofemissionsfrommotorvehiclesinShanghaiovertheperiodfrom2000to2020.Thesimulationresultsshowedthatearlypoliciesonemissioncontrolofmotorvehiclecouldbringaboutfar-reachingeffectsonemissionreduc-tion,andtakeadvantageofavailablelow-pollutingtechnologiesandtechnicalinnovationovertime.Traveldemandmanagementwouldplayanimportantroleincurbingcongestionandreducingmotorvehiclepollutionbycalmingdowncarownershipriseanddeterringinefficienttripsaswellasreducingfuelwastecausedbycongestion.
