  • 简介:-Thispaperdiscussestheapplicationoffractaldimensionandfractalsinoceanengineering.Tohandlesomeoceanenvironmentproblems,theexistingfractalmethod,inwhichthefractaldimensionisaconstant,canbeused.Forsomecomplicatedproblemsinoceanengineering,thispaperpresentstheconceptofthevariabledimensionfractals(D=f(r)),i.e.,thefractaldimensionDisthefunctionofcharacteristicscalerinsteadofaconstant.Byusingvariabledimensionfractals,severaldeformationandstressstatesofoffshorestructuresaredescribed.

  • 简介:Themeasuredprofilesoflaboratoryfracturedrocksshouldbeself-affinefractal.Thescalingpropertiesoftheseprofilesaredescribedbytwoparameters-thefractaldimensionDandthecrossoverlengthtcTheDvaluesofeightprofilesarecalculatedbytherulermethodandbythestandarddeviationmethodrespectively.Itisshownthatiftcisfargreaterthanthesamplingsteptctwomethodsyieldthesameresults,althoughifitisfarsmallerthanr,theDbythestandardmethodwillbeabout1.20,whileDbytherulermethodwillverycloseto1.0,becausetwofractaldimensions,localandglobal,existontwosidesoftcInordertoobtainthelocalfractaldimensionwhichmaybeclosetothatofthestandarddeviationmethod,therulermethodmustbemodified.Weproposeawaytoestimatethetcandtomodifytherulermethod.Finally,aprofilehavinggivenDisgeneratedintermsoftheprincipleofnon-integerorderdifferential,throughwhichtheabovetwomethodsareverifiedandleadtothesameres

  • 简介:ThedistributionpatternsofmangroveBruguieragvmnorrhizapopulationsinsouthernChinaareanalyzedusingthebox-countingmethodoffractaltheory.ThepatternsofB.gymnorrhizapopulationscouldbethoughtofasfractalsastheyexhibitself-similaritywithintherangeofscaleconsidered.Theirfractaldimensionsarenotintegerbutfractional,rangingfrom1.04to1.51.Theunoccupieddimensionschangefrom0.49to0.96.Thecombinedconditionsofpopulationdensity,patterntypeandaggregationintensitytogetherinfluencethevaluesoffractaldimensionsofpatterns.Theboxcountingisausefulandefficientmethodtoinvestigatethecomplexityofpatterns.Fractaldimensionmaybeamostdesirableandappropriateindexforquantifyingthehorizontalspatialmicrostructureandfractalbehaviorsofpatternsoveracertainrangeofscales.

  • 简介:Thestudyarealiesinthesubaqueousdelta,whichcameintobeingin1964~1976.Oneoil-fieldroadhasbeenbuiltforexploringpetroleumtoformawavebarrier.Thehydrodynamicconditionsonthenorthsideoftheroadarerelativelyviolent,onthecontrarythehydrodynamicconditionsonthesouthsideoftheroadarenearlyplacid.Thismakesthestudyareaanaturallaboratoryforstudyingtheinfluenceofthehydrodynamicconditionsonthefractalcharacteristicsofthetidalflat.SelectinganareaisnamedCaseⅠonthesideofstrongerhydrodynamicactivitiesandanareaisnamedCaseⅡontheotherside.Measuringthetopographyandsamplingandanalyzingthegranulometricalcomposition,itisfoundthatthehydrodynamicconditionshavefatalinfluenceonthesurfacefractaldimensionsandthegranulometricalfractaldimensionsofthearea.InCaseⅠ,whichhasstronghydrodynamicconditions,thesurfacefractaldimensionsareobviouslylargerthanthoseofCaseⅡ,andthegranulometricalfractaldimensionsarerelativelysmallerthanthoseofCaseⅡ,thesurfacefractaldimensionsofCaseⅠdecreasequicklywiththeincreaseofgridsize;thegranulometricalfractaldimensionsaredisperse,whilethehydrodynamicconditionsofCaseⅡarejustreverse.Asamplinglineandacoresamplingoneachsideoftheroadareselected.Itisfoundthatonthesouthsideoftheroadthegranulometricalfractaldimensionsvaryregularlyinthelineandwiththedepth,thefartherapartfromtheroad,thesmallerthefractaldimensions,andthedeeperthesamplingpositionthelargerthefractaldimensions,whilegranulometricalfractaldimensionsonthenorthsideoftheroadhavenosuchregularitypattern.Themechanismoftheinfluenceofthehydrodynamicconditionsonthefractalcharacteristicsisdiscussed.

  • 简介:TheprobabilityoffractaldeterminationofcoastaltypesbasedonGISispreliminarilydiscussedwithChinaasanexample.Finally,somesignificantconclusionsaredrawn:(1)Thefractaldimensionofcoastlineofthebedrockcoastislargerthanthatoftheplaincoastonthesamescalemap;(2)Asfarasthebedrockcoastisconcerned,thelargerfractaldimensionofcoastlineofthebedrockcoastonthesamescalemapindicatesthatthebedrockcoastisprobablynottypical;(3)Asfarastheplaincoastisconcerned,thesmallerfractaldimensionofcoastlineoftheplaincoastonthesamescalemapindicatesthatitisprobablythesiltplaincoast;(4)Thedifferentsubstantialcompositionsaffectthefractaldimensionsofcoastlinesofdifferentcoastaltypes.Ingeneral,thecoastwhichliesinthenorthoftheHangzhouBayconsistsofsandmainly,itssurfaceisflat,anditisconnectedwiththecoastalplain,itslandformisbroadshoal,itstotalchangeiscomparativelyhomogenousinthetidaldynamicprocess,andthus,therelativelysmallerfractaldimensionofcoastlineresultsfromthis.Forthebedrockcoast,thereismorebedrock,thecoastlineiscomparativelysmoothandstraight,beingaffectedbythefaultsandoceandynamicprocess,whichresultinthelargerfractaldimension.

  • 简介:Evaluationofthesound-structureinteractionisimportantforeffectivecontrolofnoiseandvibrationinstructuralacousticsystems.Crackedelasticstructure-soundinteractionproblemsarestudiedbyemployingthehybridfractalFEMandBEM.ThedegreesoffreedomofthesystemcanbereducedgreatlythroughadoptingfractalFEMindiscretizingthecrackedelasticstructure;whiletheexterioracousticfieldiscalculatedbyBEM,whichautomaticallysatisfiesSommerfeld'sradiationcondition.Numericalexamplesaregivenandshowthattheresonantfrequenciesofthestructure-acousticcoupledsystemdecreaseasthedepthofthecrackincreases,andthatthecrackhasasignificanteffectontheacousticalfieldinthevicinityofthecracktip.

  • 简介:Basedonananalysisofthefractalstructuresandmasstransportmechanismoftypicalshear-fluid-oreformationsystem,thefractaldispersiontheoryofthefluidsystemwasusedinthedynamicstudyoftheoreformationsystem.Themodelofpoint-sourcediffusiveilluviationoftheshear-fluid-oreformationsystemwasconstructed,andthenumericalsimulationofdynamicsoftheoreformationsystemwasfinished.Theresultshowsthat:(1)Themetallogenicsystemhavenestedfractalstructure.Differentfractaldimensionvaluesindifferentsystemsshowunbalanceandinhomogeneityofore-formingprocessesinthegeohistory.Itisanimportantparametertosymbolizetheprocessofremobilizationandaccumulationofore-formingmaterials.Alsoitcanindicatethedynamicsofthemetallogenicsystemquantitativelytosomeextent.(2)Inessence,thefractaldispersiveore-formingdynamicsisacombinationofmulti-processesdominatedbyfluiddynamicsandsupplementedbymoleculedispersioninfluidsandfluid-rockinteraction.Itchangescomponentsandphysico-chemicalpropertiesofprimaryrocksandfluids,favouringdepositionandmineralizationofore-formingmaterials.(3)Goldore-formingprocessesindifferenttypesofshearzonesarequitedifferent.(1)Inametallogenicsystemwithinhomogeneousvolumetricchangeandinhomogeneousshear,mineralizationoccursinstructuralbarriersinthecentreofashearzoneandingeochemicalbarriersintheshearzonenearitsboundaries.Butthereislittlepossibilityofmineralizationoutoftheshearzone.(2)Astoametallogenicsystemwithinhomogeneousvolumetricchangeandsimpleshear,mineralizationmayoccuronlyinstructuralbarriersnearthecentreoftheshearzone.(3)Inametallogenicsystemwithhomogeneousvolumetricchangeandinhomogeneousshear,mineralizationmayoccuringeochemicalbarriersbothwithinandoutoftheshearzone.

  • 简介:ThefractalcharacteristicsofthecanopystructureofB.gvmnorrhizapopulationareinvestigatedbyfractaldimensionanalysisintheNationalShankouMangroveNatureReserve.The3-year-oldbrancheshaveboxdimensionsbetween1.22and1.55,showingthecomplexitydegreeofbranchingstructureandtheabilityofoccupyingandutilizingecologicalspace.ItmaybeconsideredthatfractaldimensionprovidesausefulindexforthestudyoflightutilizationefficienciesandgrowthprocessesofB.gymnorrhiza.Calculatedbyusingthetwo-surfacemethod,thefractaldimensionsforthecrownpatternofindividualswithagesof20to50yearsrangefrom2.21to2.54,indicatingthatthefillingdegreeoffoliagetoatreecrownisrelativelylowandB.gymnorrhizahasthepropertyofasunplant.Alongwiththeincreaseofagesofindividuals,thefillingdegreeoffoliagetoatreecrownchangesfromhightolow,andsodoesthefractaldimension.Theboxdimensionsobtainedfromthegrayscalecurvesofpopulationcanopyarebetween1.47and1.61.Thegreatertheboxdimension,themorelooselyorganizedthecanopyspatialstructure,andthemorethelightspots.Thecanopystructuralinformationandcomplexityofapopulationcanbeeffectivelycapturedbyboxdimensionsobtainedfromcanopygrayscalecurves.
