简介:Thedispersioncompensationpropertiesofdual-concentriccorephotoniccrystalfibersaretheoreticallyinvestigatedinthisletter.Theeffectsofgeometricstructureonthedispersionpropertiesofdual-concentriccorephotoniccrystalfibersarecarefullystudiedbyfiniteelementmethod.Thefirstlayerofholesaroundthecoreareaisenlargedinanewmannerwiththenear-corepointfixed.Consideringthetradeoffamongseveralparameters,resultsshowthatthedispersioncompensationwavelengthandstrengthcanbetunedtodesiredvaluesbyconstructinganappropriatedesignofthegeometricstructureofphotoniccrystalfibers.

简介:Photoniccrystalfibers(PCFs)withasteppedraised-coreprofileandonelayerequallyspacedholesinthecladdingareanalyzed.Usingeffectiveindexmethodandconsideringaraisedsteprefractiveindexdifferencebetweentheindexofthecoreandtheeffectiveindexofthecladding,weimprovethecharacteristicparameterssuchasnumericalapertureandV-parameter,andreduceitsbendinglosstoaboutonetenthofaconventionalPCF.ImplementingsuchastructureinPCFsmaybeonestepforwardtoachievelowlossPCFsforcommunicationapplications.
