简介:Theobjectiveofthisstudywastoinvestigatethephysicalandmechanicalperformanceofflakeboardreinforcedwithbamboostrips.Thestudyinvestigatedthreedifferentbamboostripalignmentpatternsandanexperimentalcontrol.Allpanelsweretestedinstaticbendingbothalongparallelandperpendiculartothelengthsofthebamboostrips.Internalbondstrength(IB),thicknessswelling(TS),linearexpansion(LE),andwaterabsorption(WA)werealsoexamined.Asexpected,modulusofrupture(MOR)andmodulusofelasticity(MOE)weresubstantiallygreaterforallthreeexperimentalpaneltypesascomparedtothecontrolgroup.LEwasalsoimprovedforallthreeexperimentalpanelgroups.ThebamboostripalignmentpatternshadnosignificanteffectonTS,WAandIB.ThesamplemeansforMOR,MOEandLEtestedperpendiculartothebamboostriplengthsyieldedslightlylowermeanvaluesthancorrespondingsamplestestedparalleltothebamboostripslengths.Thisdifferenceinmechanicalpropertiesislargelyattributedtolowpaneldensityinthefailurezones.
