简介:Piecewisecompandingtransformisaflexibleandefficientwaytosolvethehighpeak-to-averagepowerratio(PAPR)problemfororthogonalfrequencydivisionmultiplexing(OFDM)systems.Anovelthreshold-basedpiecewisecompandingtransformisproposedinthispaper.Basedonthestatisticalcharacteristicsofamplitudes,OFDMsignalsareclassifiedintothreegroups(i.e.,small,averageandlargesignals).Differentfromconventionalapproaches,twodedicateddesignedthresholdsaresettoamplifythesmallsignalsandcompressthelargesignals,respectively.SimulationresultsverifytheimprovementinPAPRreductionoftheproposedscheme.Moreover,alowerbiterrorrate(BER)performancelosscanbeobtainedbyintroducingtheiterativedetectionwithamoderateincreaseincomplexity.
