简介：InthelastdecadeaNewGeophysicshasbeenproposed,wherebythecrustanduppermost~400kmofthemantleoftheEartharesopervadedbyclosely-spacedstress-alignedmicrocracks(intergranularfilmsofhydratedmeltinthemantle)thatinsiturocksvergeonfailurebyfracturing,andhencearecritical-systemsthatimposearangeoffundamentally-newpropertiesonconventionalsub-criticalgeophysics.EnoughofthesenewpropertieshavebeenobservedtoconfirmthatNewGeophysicsisanewunderstandingoffluid/rockdeformationwithimportantimplicationsandapplications.EvidencesupportingNewGeophysicshasbeenpublishedinawidevarietyofpublications.Here,forclarification,wesummariseinonedocumenttheevidencesupportingNewGeophysics.
