FormerlyagreatempirebuthavingsufferedalongperiodofoppressionbyWesternimperialistsafter1840,Chinaisverysensitiveaboutitsautonomy.CurrentlyseparatedfromthemodernworldorderdominatedbytheWest,Chinaneedstointegrateitselfintothis.So,thecoreproblemofChinesediplomacyisfindingabalancebetweenintegratingChinaintothemodernworldorderandmaintainingitsautonomy.Withinthisframework,IputforwardanewinterpretationofChineseforeignpolicysince1949.
