摘要
ObjectiveToreportoutcomesofcochlearimplantation(CI)inachildwithauditoryneuropathyspectrumdisorder(ANSD)andtoprovidepreliminaryclinicalevidenceoftheefficacyofCIinANSDpatients.MethodsA4-year-oldboywithdiagnosedauditoryneuropathyspectrumdisorder(ANSD)receivedimplantationofaNucleusCI24Rafteranunsatisfactorytrialofamplification.Post-implantationperformanceinbothhearingsensitivityandspeechrecognitionwasassessedindifferentsessions.Aidedhearingthresholdsweretestedbybehavioralaudiometry.MandarinEarlySpeechPerceptionTest(MESP),MeaningfulAuditoryIntegrationScale(MAIS),categoryofauditoryperformance(CAP)andSpeechIntelligibilityRating(SIR)wereusedtoassessthebenefitsinauditoryskillsorspeechrecognitiontheboyobtainedfromCI.Thetestswereadministeredbeforesurgeryandat3monthsand7monthsafteropening.ResultsTheboydemonstratedimprovedauditorysensitivitybyusingCI.Concerningspeechrecognitionandcommunication,bothspeechaudiometryandquestionnairesshowedanobviousbenefitfromCI.ConclusionsCIhasworkedefficientlyinthisANSDboy.ButbecauseoflimitedunderstandingofANSDandrehabilitationeffectbycochlearimplantationinthiscondition,theclinicaldecisiontoimplantshouldbecautiousandonlyafterathoroughevaluation.Meanwhile,wellcontrolledandlongtermstudiesareneededtoconfirmtheefficacyofcochlearimplantationinpatientswithANSD.
