Knowledgeofthemorphologicaldynamicsofawatercourseisessentialformanagementofreservoirsiltation.WithanexampleofsedimentationinareservoirinBasilicata,Italy,thispaperdemonstratestheeffectonreservoirsiltationofthehydraulicworks,whichareaimedtoreducesedimenttransportalongthefluvialnetworkandtopreventpartofthesedimentdischargefromreachingthelake.Theeffectdependsontherivertypeandonthethegeologicalfeaturesofriverbasinslopes.Thepaperalsoshowshowmasserosioncansignificantlycontributetodevelopmentofreservoirsiltation.Finally,preliminaryresultsareprovidedaboutthetimeneededforrivertrainingworkstobeeffective.
