Thesimulationofthewholeship-bridgecollisionprocesscanbeeffectivelycarriedoutbynonlineardynamicfiniteelementmethod.Basedonthesimpledescriptionofthetheory,ascenarioofa40000DWToiltankercollidingwithabridgeacrosstheYangtzeRiverisdesignedforsimulation.Thetechnologyofstructuremodelingandthedeterminationofrelatedparametersareintroduced.Thedeformationofthebulbbow,thehistoryofcollisionforcechange,theexchangeofcollisionenergyandthestressdistributionofthebridgepieraredescribedindetail,whichareofgreatvaluetobridgede-signandbridgepierdamageestimation,Somemechanicalcharactersintheprocessofship-bridgecollisionaredescribed.Moreaccurateresultscanbeproducedbyfiniteelementmethodthanthatbyempiricalformulasandsimplifiedanalyticalmethods.
